Seems that all the Dem-run states are in a competition to see who can destroy public education the most quickly and efficiently.
As reported in the Daily Mail, the deep blue state of New Jersey decided that it’s a great idea to pass Act 1669, which enables people to “teach” children without knowing how to read or perform basic math functions.
Yes, that’s right: New Jersey is set to outpace Oregon in insanity.
As many recall, Oregon recently got rid of tedious reading and math requirements for graduating seniors … no doubt the same “protestors” filling college campuses later on.
Now, New Jersey has apparently decided that even teachers no longer need to have basic reading or math skills.
“The State Board of Education shall not require a candidate seeking a certificate of eligibility, a certificate of eligibility with advanced standing, a provisional certificate or a standard instructional certificate to complete a Commissioners of Education-approved test of basic reading, writing and mathematics skills,” the New Jersey bill announced.
The bill, which may be reviewed in its entirety here, also notes that schools are to be banned from testing teachers’ basic academic acumen before they can teach.
“Notwithstanding any law, rule, or regulation to the contrary, the State Board of Education shall be prohibited from requiring a commissioner-approved educator preparation program to require the completion of a commissioner-approved test of basic reading, writing, and mathematics skills including, but not limited to, the Praxis Core Academic Skills for Educators test, as a condition for admission,” the bill added.
Absolutely unbelievable.
Even more unbelievable is the support that Democrats have thrown behind the bill.
For instance, Democratic state Senator Jim Beach claims that dropping all educational requirements is apparently the best way to attract more teachers.
“We need more teachers. This is the best way to get them,” Beach brayed.
The best way? Yikes.
Beach’s comments are echoed by the similarly ultra-woke New Jersey Education Association, which blasts basic educator preparation as an “unnecessary barrier” to teaching children.
Naturally, Trump ally Elon Musk is less than impressed, to put it mildly.
“So teachers don’t need to know how to read in New Jersey? Seems like that would make it challenging to teach kids how to read,” Musk remarked.
Indeed, it would. Though reading may lead to thinking, and globalist overlords don’t want that.
Sadly, it seems New Jersey is plagiarizing its own policy from none other than Governor Gruesome of California, who is currently overseeing yet another natural disaster plague the formerly Golden State.
“In 2021, California Governor Gavin Newsroom signed the TK-12 Education Trailer Bill, which eliminated two different exams for potential teachers as long as they could demonstrate basic skills and knowledge of the subject they plan to teach,” the Daily Mail noted.
That would explain a whole lot about many younger people today …
