DHS And FBI Sound Alarm On Looming Copycat Assassination Attacks

While the nation remains shaken to the core over the near-successful assassination attempt on Trump, varied federal agencies are already sounding the alarm on the potential for another imminent attack on political candidates.

As reported by Politico, in a rare joint intelligence bulletin, the FBI and Department of Homeland Security said Monday warned about the possibility of effective copycat attacks in the coming weeks.

As if that couldn’t be deduced from the deranged liberals expressing regret over the assassin’s lack of success in taking out Trump.

“[Extremists] may attempt follow-on or retaliatory acts of violence,” the bulletin noted.

Yeah. Left-wing extremists, at that.

Shame that AG Garland has chosen to focus near-exclusively on “right-wing” extremists … and conservative parents at schoolboard meetings.

Especially when it seems that the far left is quite in favor of using violence to silence political or ideological opponents.

Which is also why it is no surprise that the bulletin has noted that these retaliatory acts could occur against virtually any “perceived political or ideological opponents.”

“This attack reinforces our assessment that election-related targets are under a heightened threat of attack or other types of disruptive incidents,” the bulletin continued gravely.

Indeed, they are. Which is precisely why violent, hateful political rhetoric has been so unbelievably dangerous.

“The FBI and DHS remain concerned about the potential for follow-on or retaliatory acts of violence following this attack, particularly given that individuals in some online communities have threatened, encouraged, or referenced acts of violence in response to the attempted assassination,” the bulletin continued.

Especially when social media has become a feeding frenzy of political violence.

Then again, social media channels are oftentimes mimicking what political pundits are spewing, so much of the political insanity really does start from the top.

Just more of that “change” Obama promised.

In another statement, the FBI provided some insight into its working relationship with other agencies, presumably matters of national security and other serious issues, as reported by CNN.

“While our standard practice is not to comment on specific intelligence products, which includes addressing their veracity, the FBI regularly shares information with our law enforcement partners to assist in protecting the communities they serve,” the FBI detailed.

Well, one should hope for multi-agency collaboration when it comes to security matters as crucial as protecting presidential candidates.

However, it appears that one can only dream of politicians following through on their promises of dialing down the political rhetoric.

Especially as it seems that more than one liberal remains intent on vilifying Trump on a hyperbolic scale.

In doing so, it is only natural to expect the possibility of “retaliatory” attacks.
