Israel has made it clear: the fight against Hamas is not over. The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) has launched the next phase of its battle plan, called Operation Gideon’s Chariots. This new effort focuses on Gaza City and is part of a larger strategy to defeat Hamas once and for all.
Lieutenant General Eyal Zamir, Chief of the General Staff, spoke directly to the soldiers on the ground. He thanked them for their courage and reminded them why they fight. Their mission is clear: to bring home the Israeli hostages and to protect their country from terror. Zamir said, “We will maintain the momentum… We will continue to strike until the decisive defeat of Hamas.”
This is not a small mission. It is part of a bigger plan to reshape the security situation in the entire region. Israel has already taken action in places like Iran, Yemen, Lebanon, and Judea and Samaria. Now, Gaza City is the focus. According to Zamir, this is not just about one city or one battle. It is part of a long-term strategy to bring peace and safety to Israel’s citizens.
Let’s be clear: Hamas is a terrorist organization. It has attacked civilians, kidnapped innocent people, and used its own people as human shields. Israel has every right—indeed, a duty—to defend itself. No nation should be expected to sit back and allow terror to flourish within or near its borders.
The IDF has already shown great strength and discipline over the past two years. These soldiers have made major accomplishments, bringing more safety to towns near Gaza and across Israel. As Zamir said, “You have been fighting for nearly two consecutive years, achieving unprecedented accomplishments.” This kind of resolve is what keeps a free nation strong.
But Israel is not only fighting for land or power. They are fighting for their people. The return of the hostages is their top priority. These are not just political goals—they are moral duties. Every life matters, and Israel knows it cannot rest until those taken hostage are brought home.
Some critics may not understand the full picture. They may say Israel should back down or try to make peace with Hamas. But history teaches us that peace cannot come from weakness. Just like the United States had to stand firm against tyrants who threatened freedom, Israel must do the same in its region.
We should see Israel’s actions not as aggression, but as self-defense. This is a nation fighting for its survival in a dangerous world. And it is doing so with discipline, purpose, and a clear moral compass.
Just last week, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s office announced that Israel will take full control of Gaza after the war ends. This plan gives Defense Minister Israel Katz the authority to call up more than 400,000 military reservists. That shows how serious this mission is—and how committed Israel is to finishing the job.
This is not about occupation or conquest. It is about making sure that Hamas can never again use Gaza as a base for terror. Israel has learned, through hard experience, that evil must be confronted directly. And when leadership is clear, when the mission is just, and when the people are united, victory becomes possible.
In America, we know what it means to fight for liberty and justice. We should stand with Israel as it defends those same values. Their struggle is not just theirs—it reflects the greater fight between freedom and tyranny, law and lawlessness, civilization and chaos.
Israel is doing what every sovereign, God-given nation has the right to do: protect its people, defeat evil, and seek peace through strength. That’s something all freedom-loving people should support.
