It would appear that the transgender militants and other members of the LGBTQ+ mob are trying to maximize “special protections” as much as possible before Trump takes office.
Astoundingly, the same group that demands “Defund Police” and pro-Hamas “ceasefires” apparently also feels entitled to special protection … from the police.
As reported by Blaze Media, a militant, woke mob recently demanded special protection provided by the police in Prattville, Alabama, for a “Pride” float that they insisted on putting in a Christmas-themed parade.
While Prattville had initially allowed the float from Prattsville Pride in the parade, the LGBTQ+ group emailed city officials after their approval, demanding supposedly increased security over alleged “threats.”
So, the Prattsville Pride demanded for two police officers walk near the crowd and alongside the float, which, of course, would be taxpayer-funded.
Prattville Mayor Bill Gillespie Jr. promptly canceled the so-called “Pride” element of the parade, which is frankly totally disrespectful anyway.
After all, would LGBTQ+ activists demand the “right” to march in a pro-Muslim parade?
Most likely not.
Which is why Gillespie was very clear in his response.
“The City will not put the rights of parade participants ahead of the safety of its citizens. Because of the safety concerns for Prattville Pride, other parade participants, as well as parade bystanders, the City has made the decision to remove Prattville Pride from the Christmas parade,” Gillespie asserted.
And that decision does not mean that First Amendment rights were violated … it means public safety was protected over entitled anti-police advocates who demand special protection from the same police.
“The City will always respect freedoms and rights of expression. However, as in this instance, it must put the overall safety of its citizens first,” Gillespie declared.
Alas, Prattville Pride did not take the decision well, escalating their complaint all the way up to the court.
Which resulted in U.S. District Judge R. Austin Huffaker Jr. ordering a temporary restraining report and a preliminary injunction against Gillespie’s decision.
A tremendous shame for everyone, aside from the militants, that is.
“This ruling is a powerful affirmation of the importance of visibility, representation, and inclusion for all members of our community. The Christmas parade is a cherished holiday tradition, and we are excited to celebrate alongside our neighbors and friends in the spirit of love, joy, and unity,” the militants bragged.
Uh huh. The same “spirit” that demands special protection for being deliberately divisive.
Insane.
Though at least others see right through the madness.
“At the risk of stating the obvious, the LGBTQ+ agenda has gone way beyond acceptance and tolerance to promotion and imposition,” one commenter drawled.
Have they ever …
