Looks like one company finally had the sense to listen to its consumers about absurd diversity mandates via DEI.
Or, as Elon Musk states, DEI in reality should be spelled “DIE,” as that’s what seems to end up happening to company profits when they go ultra-woke.
One such company that apparently dabbled in the woke game was Tractor Supply Company, which apparently thought it was a great idea to deeply alienate its conservative base.
A conservative individual, Robby Starbuck, who previously ran for Congress, certainly took issue with the approach of Tractor Supply, as evidenced in a rather searing tweet that he issued regarding the company.
“It’s time to expose Tractor Supply. It’s one of the most beloved brands in by conservatives but what do they REALLY stand for under CEO @hallawton’s leadership?
- LGBTQIA+ training for employees
- Funding pride/drag events
- They have a DEI Council
- Funding sex changes
- Climate change activism
- Pride month decorations in the office
- DEI hiring practices
- LGBTQIA+ events at work
Hal also liked posts attacking unvaccinated people and @AllisonW_Sports when she left ESPN over the COVID vaccine,” Starbuck declared on X.
Yikes.
Something suggests that hardworking Americans in rural regions are less than impressed by the prospect of their expenditures “funding sex changes,” amongst other activities.
Starbuck also made it clear that he is hardly joyful about the developments with Tractor Supply Company, though he clearly believes they needed to be brought to consumers’ attention.
“I take no pleasure in bringing this all to light. I’m a Tennessean who loves to support TN companies but as a proud Tennessean I know these woke priorities don’t align with our state or @TractorSupply’s customer base.
We must make our voices heard. Hal Lawton needs to understand that we don’t want our hard-earned money spent on these woke priorities. If he supports this stuff then he should spend some of his $11M salary or tens of millions in stock on it instead of using the money we spend at Tractor Supply,” Starbuck continued.
Seriously. The CEO is welcome to spend his (many) millions on whatever woke cause he would like … but he most certainly should not be using consumers’ money through varied corporate schemes.
Amazingly, Tractor Company actually responded, making it clear that they were listening to their customers.
“We work hard to live up to our Mission and Values every day and represent the values of the communities and customers we serve. We have heard from customers that we have disappointed them. We have taken this feedback to heart,” Tractor Supply Company asserted.
And, sure enough, the company didn’t just issue an insincere statement – they followed through with abandoning DEI.
“Tennessee-based Tractor Supply Company, which claims to be the nation’s largest rural lifestyle retailer and ranked No. 32 in the National Retail Federation’s Top 100 retailer list in 2023, just ignited a firestorm of controversy in some circles as it sought to avoid one in others …
Just as Pride Month festivities were dialing down, Tractor Supply announced it was eliminating all diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) roles at the company, retiring current DEI goals and no longer submitting data to the Human Rights Campaign, an LGBTQ+ advocacy group. Instead, it will refocus on its internal Team Member Engagement Groups to mentor, network and support the business,” Forbes asserted.
Sounds like a much sounder investment than “funding sex changes.”
Needless to say, Starbuck (and other conservative Americans) are thrilled with the company’s wise decision to abandon DEI.
“A massive victory and a massive turning point in the fight to end wokeness in the place, dismantle DEI and eliminate ESG to bring sanity back to corporate America,” Starbuck proclaimed.
Indeed, it is a fabulous victory.
Especially as Tractor Supply acknowledged rural communities as the “backbone” of the country.
“Rural communities are the backbone of our nation and what make America great. We are honored to be a part of them,” Tractor Supply declared.
A much more accurate description than Clinton’s pitiable “deplorables” remark.
