Looks like the Biden regime could take a thing or two out of the playbook of the current leadership in the United Kingdom (UK).
Indeed, unlike the blithering emanating from the White House regarding its alleged attempts to control immigration (ironically using Trump’s former policies), the UK government is taking actual action againstillegals.
Chiefly by conducting major raids of illegal encampments and preparing them for departure, straight to Rwanda.
That’s right: Under a deal struck between the UK and Rwanda, the UK is literally paying for Rwanda to take in all the so-called “asylum seekers.”
Such a system will make illegals think twice about entering the UK, to put it mildly.
And while it’s absurd to have to pay for illegals to leave, it’s even more absurd to pay for them to stay, which is evident from all the American sanctuary cities hurling free cash and housing at illegals.
Downing Street, the center of governance in the UK, feels quite differently, as proudly announced just a couple of days ago.
“The next stage of Prime Minister’s plan to stop the boats has begun … We’re working at home and abroad to deliver on this priority,” Downing Street declared.
Now if only the Biden administration will take a cue out of the UK’s page.
Indeed, UK Home Secretary James Cleverly is delighted with the new program, which will serve as one of the best deterrents yet for illegal migrants.
“Our Rwanda partnership is a pioneering response to the global challenge of illegal migration, and we have worked tirelessly to introduce new, robust legislation to deliver it,” Cleverly proclaimed.
Indeed. Keep that legislation going.
Odds are excellent that, in no time, European nations will commence similarly hardline approaches, especially as they absorb the overflow from the UK.
Cleverly also called out the illegals for exactly who they are: criminal gangs.
“Our dedicated enforcement teams are working at pace to swiftly detain those who have no right to be here so we can get flights off the ground … This is a complex piece of work, but we remain absolutely committed to operationalizing the policy, to stop the boats and break the business model of people smuggling gangs,” Cleverly added.
Absolutely. And the UK doesn’t even have the major problems with fentanyl like the US does, thanks to Biden’s open borders.
UK Home Office Director of Enforcement Eddy Montgomery also reiterated the importance of the current hardline approach to illegal migration, given how out of control it has become.
“Our specialist operational teams are highly trained and fully equipped to carry out the necessary enforcement activity at pace and in the safest way possible … It is vital that operational detail is kept to a minimum, to protect colleagues involved and those being detained, as well as ensuring we can deliver this large-scale operation as quickly as possible,” Montgomery declared.
Of course, the UK is plagued like leftists as well, who have already thrown a fit over a rather sensible plan for dealing with illegal migration.
Alistair Carmichael, the “Lib Dem” home affairs spokesman (yes, his actual title) has ranted about the apparent evils of the plan, if only because his pitiable party depends on illegals’ votes.
“The plan was always deeply immoral and coming at eye watering cost to the taxpayer, no amount of flashy PR will change that,” Carmichael whined, “time and time again we have seen this immoral and expensive policy fail, a scrambled PR push won’t change that.”
Is that so? Well, one thing is for sure: the lower crime rates will surely alter any uncertain taxpayers’ opinions.
Yolande Makolo, who serves as a spokeswoman for Rwanda, is clearly on board with the plan, and she indicated that the East African nation expects “thousands” of illegals from the United Kingdom to arrive, though their arrivals would be staggered.
“What I cannot tell you is how many thousands we are taking in the first year or the second year. This will depend on very many factors that are being worked out right now … So it has never been the case that we can only take 200 initially, that has been a misconception,” Makolo added smoothly, easily undermining the left’s claims that only a couple hundred migrants would be removed.
Way to go, UK!
Now if only the United States would implement a similar policy.
