Now that’s a victory worth cheering for.
According to an exclusive report from the New York Post, the Trump administration has started to achieve one of the core promises on the campaign trail: reducing illegal immigration.
And some of the most recent data suggests that Team Trump has achieved exactly that.
“Border crossings have plummeted to levels not seen in decades this month following President’s Trump’s swift crackdown on illegal immigration across the southwest … So far in February, about 359 illegal migrants per day have been caught across the entire southern border – down more than 90% from February 2024, according to leaked Customs and Border Protection data,” the New York Post declared.
Marvelous news …especially for those whose lives have been upended by illegal migration.
And this decline is not only good for the present, but it is also one of the most significant in several decades.
“That puts the US on track to have the lowest monthly border crossings in at least 25 years. If the trend continues, the number of illegal migrants coming into the US could hit a level not seen since 1968, nearly 60 years ago,” the report continued.
Mark Krikorian, the executive director at the Center for Immigration Studies, reiterated the impressive nature of the data, highlighting how such a favorable trend had not occurred “in almost a lifetime.”
“If you kind of break down the numbers, divide them by 365, we haven’t had numbers this low since the 1960s. So we’re talking 60-year lows if it’s sustained, obviously,” Krikorian asserted.
Sheriff Thaddeus Cleveland, who oversees Terrell County, Texas, has also noted the highly favorable trend.
“We’ve gone from one extreme to the other extreme, historic levels of people crossing, historic levels of the low apprehensions. It’s very surprising,” Cleveland observed.
And very welcomed.
“It’s a relief,” Cleveland concurred.
That’s putting it mildly, when considering recent, pre-Trump data.
In 2022, approximately 6,432 illegals crossed the border per day.
In 2023, the total number of illegals crossing the border “declined” to 5,590.
In 2024, the total number of border-crossing illegals further declined to 2,849 per day … which is still an unconscionable number.
Especially when considering those are the known crossings … who knows how many unknown crossings there have been?
The bottom line is Trump has already slashed illegal borer crossings by approximately 1800 percent since their highest point.
And he is poised to reduce total illegal immigration well into the next several months, completely ignoring his Debbie downer critics.
