Looks like Biden is getting flack worldwide for his approach to errant “weather balloons.” Despite his rather obviously adrenaline-induced bravado during the State of Union address, Biden clearly fails to inspire fear in either Russia or China.
After all, last year Biden proclaimed, “No more!” shortly after Putin’s aggression … only for Putin to become more aggressive.
At least last year Biden addressed Putin’s invasion within minutes of his speech.
This year, it took him nearly an hour to basically say he wants to cooperate with China, rather than confront China.
This statement took place after shooting down China’s weather balloon.
Imagine Beijing indicating its desire to cooperate with the United States if the situation were reversed.
Something suggests the outcome would have been different.
Speaking of different, the United Sates seriously needs to step up its rather egregious “domain awareness gaps” that permitted the balloon (and others) to sail on through in the first place.
Yeah, the intelligence community actually let that one slip out.
Which is probably why NORAD Chief Glen VanHerck quickly claimed that he could not shoot down the “weather balloon” because it did not display “hostile intent.”
“The domain awareness was there as it approached Alaska. It was my assessment that this balloon did not present a physical military threat to North America. This is under my NORAD hat and therefore, I could not take immediate action because it was not demonstrating hostile act or hostile intent,” VanHerck insisted.
Eventually, the balloon was shot down, after immense political pressure, and, of course, well after it traversed the entire nation and sent all necessary data straight back to the Bidens’ comrades in Beijing.
Emphasis on the Bidens, as more than one Biden has gotten rich off of China.
Which is probably why they feel more than emboldened to chew him out in a scathing op-ed, which all but declares the extreme incompetence across American governance, not to mention the apparently inability of Biden to handle anything on his own.
“The Joe Biden administration’s handling of the Chinese balloon case last week was meant to showcase the United States’ strategic strength amid fierce attacks by Republicans and the low approval ratings of U.S. official. But instead it has shown to the world how immature and irresponsible – indeed hysterical – the U.S. has been in dealing with the case,” China Daily asserted.
Gotta love how they say “the Joe Biden administration.” Versus “Joe Biden.”
Translation: Biden’s phantom, non-transparent administration makes the real decisions, not him.
They also said point blank that they were not at all intimidated by Biden’s (late) show of force. In fact, they went as far as to suggest that Biden administration is engaged in a bit of a “wag the dog” maneuver.
“Less than a week after a U.S. fighter jet fired a missile and brought down a Chinese balloon, an utterly harmless civilian airship designed for meteorological use, the US shot down an unidentified object around Alaska on Friday at the order of President Joe Biden. Stuck in typical partisanship and ‘political correctness,’ orders from the White House are getting laughably juvenile,” the Chinese publication continued.
Seems everyone is sick of political correctness but the Dems and their cohorts in Canada and across the pond.
Furthermore, the Chinese publication implies that the timing of the Biden administration’s shootdown is suspect, especially as it was merely “less than a week” after shooting down their own balloon.
“The U.S. should have dealt with the balloon case in a calm and responsible way without letting it being hijacked by the bitter domestic partisan politics because a conflict between the two countries would spell disaster for the entire world,” the newspaper continued.
Indeed, it would. Which is starting to seem like the point for more than one globalist.
The newspaper then shifted into the most scathing bit of commentary at all, which all but announces the perceived weakness of the Biden administration.
“The U.S. did make a strong case that the F-22 is invincible, when its enemy are balloons. Unfortunately, this is the way the US propagandizes – bragging about shooting down balloons,” the outlet continued.
Written that way, one could certainly see the Biden administration being perceived as inept, especially when they initially seemed unwilling to do anything at all.
From wanting to do nothing to deploying an F-22 is quite the leap.
Finally, the editorial even concludes with a pointed barb at longstanding American policy throughout the twenty-first century to date.
“Is US strong or weak? It looks pretty damn tough in the face of balloons, civilian airships, and other innocuous objects. But in the face of real battlefield, U.S.’ choice is to exhaust others,” China Daily jeered.
So, in other words, China Daily thinks Biden is only “tough” when standing up to balloons.
As for the “real battlefield,” a direct allusion to the war in Ukraine, it is clear that China is well aware that Biden is shipping vast, vast troves of weapons abroad with little to no accountability.
China, frighteningly, is suggesting that the United States may “exhaust others” who fight its battles, but, at this juncture in time, it can only successfully, and directly, confront a balloon.
While this suggestion is hardly indicative of reality, one can’t help but wonder how the United States would defend itself in the event of an invasion, after giving away much of its arsenal in just a year.
