“I said from the very start that this bromance was going to come to an end.”
So gloated Michael Cohen, President Trump’s former attorney, upon learning of Elon Musk’s effective departure from the government.
However, Cohen did far more than gloat – he made rather dour predictions what Trump would do with Musk in the future.
As reported by The Hill, Cohen apparently believes that Trump is going to steal Musk’s money.
Or, to be completely accurate, “go after Elon’s money.”
“I’m going to go one step even further, again, and I’m going to say Trump will ultimately go after Elon’s money next because it bothers him that he is the richest man in the world,” Cohen declared.
Wow. That’s quite the accusation.
One certainly can’t claim Cohen is a shirking wallflower, that’s for sure.
On the contrary, he’s the liberal with the bullhorn on the press circuit, which is all too eager to cater to him now that his association with Trump has been very publicly broken up.
“He’s going to do to Elon Musk, my prediction, what Mohammed bin Salman did to the other members of the royal family,” Cohen added.
An even more aggressive commentary, considering that the Saudi Royal Prince notoriously trapped his family in the Ritz Carlton for weeks while he shook them down for most of their worth – under the guise of fighting “corruption,” of course.
And, ironically, Cohen is suggesting that Trump may have done similarly to Musk – effectively shaking Musk down until he no longer offered any value to the Trump administration.
And Musk’s greatest value may well have been the hundreds of millions he spent helping Trump secure the White House in the first place.
“Yes, he used him for his money,” Cohen crisply declared.
And, most amazingly, Cohen strongly implied that Trump may well commandeer his money in the future, especially as the president is allegedly “jealous” of Musk having significantly more personal wealth.
That is quite the accusation, to put it mildly … not to mention one that would thrill the media.
Cohen also made it clear that Musk is no different than numerous other individuals who believed that they had achieved consistent, bidirectional loyalty with Trump.
Asserting that Musk “100% believes” that he will be different, Cohen scoffed, adding “and so does [Secretary of Commerce Howard] Lutnick and so does [Treasury Secretary Scott] Bessent, and so does [Secretary of State] Marco Rubio, and so does even [Vice President] JD Vance.”
In other words, Cohen claims that Trump is ultimately loyal to no one.
“They all think that they’re different, that Donald is going to shine the light on them, when push comes to shove,” Cohen continued to rant.
It’s pretty amazing to observe how much of a microphone Cohen has received in the wake of his relatively recently developed aversion to Trump.
And that aversion is clearly not appreciated by the White House.
White House Communications Director Steven Cheung made it rather clear that the Trump administration wholly denies virtually any negative commentary spewed by Cohen.
“Michael Cohen is an admitted liar, thief, perjurer and convicted felon. He has zero credibility, and any and all statements made by him about President Trump and others should be disregarded as the rantings of a deeply troubled, jealous, and sad individual who is clearly trying to rehabilitate his image by selling what’s left of his soul through lies and deception,” Cheung coldly remarked to the press.
On his part, Cohen merely doubled down on Trump’s apparent allergy to loyalty, as he sees it.
“Loyalty with Trump … goes one way,” Cohen coolly remarked.
Is that so?
Well, Cohen may well circle back and amend his remarks by 2028 … especially if an even more frightening candidate is pitted against the GOP nominee.
