“Look, [Obama is] guilty. It’s not a question. You know, I like to say, ‘Let’s give it time.’ It’s there. He’s guilty. This was treason, this was every word you can think of.”
So declared President Donald Trump during a rather telling release of documents this week … which purportedly show that none other than former President Barack Obama orchestrated the entire “Russiagate” hoax.
A hoax that Obama’s former nemesis – Hillary Clinton – was sure to seize upon when running against Trump.
Rather irritated by these revelations, Obama swiftly replied through blasting the “bizarre allegations” ostensibly issued by the “outrageous” Trump administration.
And it seems that more than Democrat is now urging Obama to stay away from a public brawl with Trump.
Heck, some Democrat donors are going as far as to order Obama to stay out of Trump’s so-called “pig pen,” per a report from The Hill.
Democratic strategist Eddie Vale is an especially vocal advocate, making it rather clear that Obama should stand to the side.
“No matter how much Trump and Fox are trying to drag it up, the base is still tearing them apart on the Epstein documents, so no need to interrupt them punching themselves in the face,” Vale asserted.
“Punching themselves in the face,” huh?
Oddly enough, that sounds similar to the “circular firing squad” commentary that Obama made before … though in that circumstance, he was referring to other Democrats.
However, since Obama already had responded to Trump in a public forum, Vale also approved what he has said thus far – especially as Obama mentioned Rubio.
“While they generally ignore the day-to-day, it was smart I think to put out that statement to show how dumb it is, especially with the fun knife twist reminder of Rubio agreeing with them,” Vale chortled.
Yes … Except Rubio may or may not have changed his mind, based upon the evidence that was demonstrated to him.
Though Vale swiftly proceeds to declare Epstein as a de facto “kryptonite” for Trump – which is exactly why he believes Obama should eschew any further mud slinging.
“Epstein is the kryptonite to Trump’s superpower of distraction … He has been recycling through all the usual hits of, ‘Blame the media,’ ‘Blame Obama.’ And while Fox News is dutifully reporting them, his voters … and a lot of House Republicans are all seeing right through it and continuing to demand Trump release the files,” Vale boomed.
Well, if Representative Massie has his way, those files may well be released this fall.
Other Democrats chimed in, urging Obama to avoid a direct conflict with Trump.
David Litt, who served as a speechwriter for Obama during his presidency, also believes that Obama is better off letting the public focus on Epstein.
“They’re not letting Trump pretend this is about anything other than distracting people from his Epstein files broken promise and trying to shore up tanking approval ratings,” Litt asserted.
Litt did not address the “tanking approval ratings” across the board – which not only apply to Trump, but virtually every politician, it would appear.
An unnamed Democrat strategist went as far as to compare following Trump to following a “drunk driver.”
“I think his approach was fine. Clearly lay out the inconsistencies, redirect people to what Trump is trying to distract from … Trying to counter-message Donald Trump is like trying to follow a drunk driver home. The only way is to just survive,” the strategist asserted.
Ironically, Trump does not touch alcohol, rendering the analogy even more amusing.
And he likely does not cavort with pigs either, though an unnamed Democrat donor seems to think differently.
“We should never get in Trump’s pig pen … The more we do, the more he wins,” the donor groused.
Now that’s some substantive food for thought …
