Harris and Newsom Eye White House: A Threat?

The 2026 midterm elections are still ahead, but already two familiar Democrat faces—Kamala Harris and Gavin Newsom—are talking about running for president in 2028. That should concern every American who values liberty, tradition, and the Constitution. These two politicians have already shown us what they stand for, and it’s not the vision our Founders fought for in 1776.

Kamala Harris, who failed to win the presidency in 2024, now says, “I am not done.” That’s clear. She still sees herself as a leader in the Democratic Party and is keeping the door open for another run. But we need to ask: what did she offer the American people the first time? Her record as vice president under Joe Biden was one of confusion, failed border policies, and empty speeches. The American people rejected that in 2024, and rightly so.

Now Gavin Newsom is echoing the same tune. He tells CBS that he’d be “lying” if he said he wasn’t thinking about running. But what would a Newsom presidency mean? Just look at California under his watch. The state is overrun with crime, homelessness, and sky-high taxes. Businesses and families are fleeing in droves. Newsom calls President Trump “an invasive species,” but it’s Trump who’s fighting for peace abroad and prosperity at home—just look at the recent peace deal he helped sign in Asia. That’s real leadership.

What’s most troubling is not just the possibility of another Harris or Newsom campaign. It’s the ideas they represent. These are folks who seem to believe government should have more control over your life, not less. They believe in top-down mandates, open borders, and endless spending. That path leads away from the Constitution, not toward it.

Our Founders built this country on the idea that power should remain with the people and their states—not with far-off federal rulers. Harris and Newsom have shown again and again that they believe Washington knows best. They want to tell you what kind of car you can drive, what kind of stove you can use, even what kind of speech is acceptable. That’s not freedom. That’s control.

The Constitution doesn’t promise us comfort or convenience. It promises us liberty. It gives us the right to speak freely, worship as we choose, protect our families, and govern ourselves locally. Leaders like Harris and Newsom seem ready to trade that liberty for government programs and political power. That’s not the American way.

Meanwhile, President Trump is showing what real leadership looks like. He’s not just talking—he’s acting. While Harris and Newsom give interviews about their dreams of power, Trump is making peace in Asia and restoring America’s strength on the world stage. He’s putting America first, just like he promised.

As we look toward 2028, we must remember what’s at stake. It’s not just another election. It’s a question of whether we will keep the Constitution as our guide or let it be pushed aside by those who think they know better than the Founders. Harris and Newsom may say they’re not done, but neither is the American people’s fight to protect liberty.

We need leaders who believe in states’ rights, free markets, faith, and family. We need leaders who understand that the Constitution is not a suggestion—it’s the supreme law of the land. And we need voters who can see through the smooth talk and remember what these politicians have actually done.

So let them talk all they want about running in 2028. The rest of us must stay focused on defending the principles that made this country great. Because if we don’t, those principles may not last another generation. And that’s something we cannot afford.
