To be a fly on the wall in one of the Obama’s (many) multi-million dollar mansions now.
Especially considering that Trump just took action against another Obama-backed appointee.
As reported by the New York Post, Trump has decided that the Library of Congress has become too politicized over time, and he’s taken summary action against the individuals he perceives as responsible for the ostensible partisanship.
“President Trump unexpectedly fired Library of Congress head Carla Hayden on Thursday in a move that sent Democrats into a frenzy,” the New York Post detailed.
One could certainly deduce that Trump may have done so in keeping with his anti-DEI initiatives, as explicitly spelled out in one of his key executive orders.
“Hayden – the first woman and black librarian of Congress – received an email from the White House’s Presidential Personnel Office telling her she was terminated late Thursday,” the New York Post continued.
Which would support the potential for the anti-DEI action.
Especially as the letter to Hayden was rather succinct and to the point.
“On behalf of President Donald J. Trump, I am writing to inform you that your position as the Librarian of Congress is terminated effective immediately. Thank you for your service,” the email briskly remarked.
… Though, on the other hand, perhaps it was the political persuasion of Hayden that led to the greatest complications.
Indeed, Hayden was described by the Daily Mail as “a former chief librarian of the Chicago Public Library, Hayden worked for Encoch Pratt Free Library in Baltimore when she was nominated to the Library of Congress by President Barack Obama in 2016.”
So, in other words, Hayden is very closely linked with Obama, alongside the varied DEI initiatives strongly backed by Obama.
Which is undoubtedly one of the many reasons why she was directly targeted by varied groups that support the Trump administration.
For instance, Tom Jones, the president of the American Accountability Foundation, has repeatedly stressed the importance of targeting all presumed radicals within virtually all governmental agencies.
Though some governmental agencies are traditionally non-partisan, Jones views more than one presidential appointee from the past as a potential threat to the current administration.
In particular any “deep state” appointees.
“The President and his team have done an admirable and long-needed job cleaning out deep state liberals from the federal government. It is time they show Carla Hayden and Shira Perlmutter the door and return an America First agenda to the nation’s intellectual property regulation,” Jones declared.
And in one fell swoop, that’s precisely what the Trump administration just did.
