While President-elect Trump has been racking up victory after victory against the left for the past several weeks, from the courtroom to the ballot box, some victories are especially sweet.
In particular victories in which high-profile Democrats indicate their willingness to work with Trump.
Indeed, while several sanctuary state mayors, generally those quite low on the totem pole, have proclaimed their intention to defy the federal government over illegal migrants, it seems that one higher-profile mayor feels quite differently.
Indeed, as reported by Blaze Media, none other than New York City Mayor Eric Adams has declared his intention to not only work with Trump, but possibly even join the Republican Party once again.
Surprisingly, Adams was a registered Republican from 1995 through 2002, suggesting that he definitely had some sense at one point.
And that sense may well be returning, especially after he sees how quickly and easily the Dems can and will turn on others.
During a recent interview, Adams made it clear he has not closed the door on becoming a Republican again.
“Would you ever consider rejoining the GOP?” the interviewer queried.
“The party that’s the most important for me is the American party. I’m a part of the American party. I love this country. This is the home of the free, the land of the brave,” Adams replied smoothly, making it abundantly clear that he is hardly anti-GOP.
“You know what the headlines are going to be now that you haven’t said ‘no’ to becoming a Republican?” the interviewer replied, apparently shocked.
Though Adams remained nonplussed.
“I think that’s what people fail to realize is I’m not motivated by headlines. We need to move away from identifying, classifying ourselves as anything other than Americans,” Adams asserted.
Amen!
“I’m an American. So, no matter what party I’m on or vote on, I’m going to push for the American values,” Adams continued, “my focus is the American people and the people of New York City. And those who don’t like it, they will cancel me, and I say, ‘Cancel me.”
Now, that’s the spirit!
And, to make the Dems even angrier, Adams also asserted that he would work with, not against, the Trump administration.
An administration that has already responded favorably, judging from the response of Trump’s Border Czar, Tom Homan.
“I’m willing to meet with him, and I’m willing to meet with anybody to help make their communities safe … Prioritization out of the gate is public safety threats. Work with us on that. It makes your community safer. It keeps my officers safe. It keeps the community safe. Let’s work together and get this done,” Homan asserted.
Hallelujah! A call for unity!
“I’m looking for partnerships. I’m not looking for enemies,” Homan added.
Seems that anyone with any sense is … in particular those interested in building, not destroying, the United States.
