Little wonder that Trump had a resounding victory in 2024, given that he has real policies in mind.
The kind of policies that go a step beyond rather basic preparation, such as ensuring that fire hydrants are filled and capable of dealing with wildfires.
Not only is Trump prepared with policies in the present, but also policies in the future.
Policy intended to not only better Americans’ lives in the present, but also secure the nation well into the future.
And what better way to do so than craft a 100-year plan for longstanding energy independence?
According to former Interior Secretary David Bernhardt detailed all the ways in which Trump is planning for the nation’s long-term energy security, not to mention economic security.
“In the future, every manufacturing plant, every data center, every semiconductor facility and assembly line will want to be built in America … because America will be the place where the cost of energy is lower than anywhere else on Earth,” Bernhardt declared.
A vastly preferable choice to a rather strategic disadvantage with China, the policies Biden=Harris appear to be gunning for.
“Between soaring demand and retiring coal, we are facing a great capacity shortfall of at least 30% by 2032 … You should ask [Vice President Kamala] Harris [and Tim] Walz how they are going to make up for that shortfall under their net zero vision. I submit to you they can’t,” Bernhardt continued.
Of course not. All they know how to do is preen for interviews in which they’re effectively spoon-fed all the answers.
Meanwhile, Trump is focused on improving the lives of Americans, as well as the lives of people in general worldwide.
“[Trump will] support nuclear energy production by modernizing the Nuclear Regulatory Commission, working to keep existing power plants open and investing in innovative small modular reactors,” Bernhardt detailed, providing specifics regarding Trump’s energy plans.
“President Trump will fully modernize the electric grid to prepare it for the next 100 years, implement rapid approvals for energy projects, and greenlight the construction of hundreds of new power plants to pave the way for an enormous growth in American wealth,” Bernhardt added.
And, in doing so, secure the nation’s future while working towards a more peaceful world.
Daniel Kammen, a professor of nuclear engineering at the University of California at Berkeley, notes the value of such a plan, referencing its emphasis on a “brave, bright new wave.”
“Nuclear SMR proponents will say this is the brave, bright new wave for nuclear power and these private sector operators are going to essentially do for nuclear what they seem to have done for space launches,” Kammen detailed.
And precisely why Trump is interested.
Once he can navigate the federal bureaucracy.
“The number of barriers in design to protect public safety that the Nuclear Regulatory Commission runs means even a massively pro-nuclear president would have a hugely difficult time stepping through those,” Kammen continued.
All the more reason to streamline a rather bloated swamp. Especially when the technology is effectively ready to go now.
“There are effectively SMRs operating around the world. Russia delivers nuclear-powered icebreakers to its Arctic cities and then they take the power directly off of that boat. We have nuclear aircraft carriers …
The technology of this size has existed for decades. These are just machines that are tailored for commercial use,” Kammen mused.
Fortunately, they may well be used as soon as this year …
