Biden Gaslights Americans Over Border Crisis

In case the absence of accountability for the Biden administration couldn’t be any clearer, it is worthwhile to consider the progression of commentary regarding the border.

For starters, DHS Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas spent much of 2021 denying that a border problem even existed, never mind an emergency.

As the border crossings surged well into hundreds of thousands, the administration still ignored the crisis.

It was only when the bussing scheme started that the federal government began to wake up, especially after Democrat-led cities began issuing states of emergency for all of a few dozen migrants arriving.

Consequently, realizing that they apparently had to do something, the Biden administration basically came up with a brilliant plan: Blame Republicans, and then enforce (Republican-supported) laws regarding immigration.

In other words, gaslight Americans.

Classic.

The White House has issued yet another humorous press release, this time detailing how the irascible Republicans are really at fault for the border crisis.

After identifying a number of allegedly strong actions the administration will take, like sending more unchecked millions to varied governments, the president then decided to blame Republicans for the border crisis he has spent much of his presidency denying.

“While these steps will help address some of the most acute challenges at the Southwest border, they will not solve all of the problems in an immigration system that has been broken for far too long,” Biden intoned ominously.

And, in case you’re wondering what Biden is referring to in terms of “all the problems in an immigration system that has been broken for far too long,” wonder no further, as he proceeds to blame Republicans next.

“That can only happen if Republicans in Congress who have spent the past two years talking about border security quit blocking the comprehensive immigration reform and border security measures President Biden proposed on his first day in office, and opposing the billions of dollars in additional funds the President has requested for border security and management,” the White House release declared self-righteously.

Wow. How about that. What a way to blame Republicans’ resistance to multitrillion dollar (i.e., inflationary) spending packages for the crisis that the Democrats themselves created.

How about Biden focus on a bill that focuses on the border, and border only, rather than a bill that contains a reported $200M in gender studies education in Pakistan?

Incredibly, the release continues its tirade against Republicans, as if they are the unilateral cause of the calamity on the border.

“Unlike some Republican officials playing political games and obstructing real solutions to fix our broken immigration system, President Biden has a plan and is taking action,” the administration sniffed.

Of course he does.

“Obstructing real solutions” is also humorous, as part of the obstruction includes denying a problem at the border in the first place.

The general absence of the administration’s creativity is evident from the hilarious “plan” the White House presents.

“Effective immediately, individuals who attempt to enter the United States without permission, do not have a legal basis to remain, and cannot be expelled pursuant to Title 42 will be increasingly subject to expedited removal to their country of origin and subject to a five-year ban on reentry,” the release declared.

So, in other words, Biden’s plan is … to enforce existing law, or say he will reinforce existing law anyway.

The same laws that are clearly have not been enough to stymie illegal immigration in the first place, which is why Trump tried so hard to fix the problem.

Only for Democrats to show up and destroy all the hard work that Trump had achieved over the course of his presidency.
