Well, that escalated quickly.
In easily under a year’s time, CNN has gone from feting all the controversy surrounding former President Joe Biden as a “vote to save democracy” … to a scandal “worse than Watergate.”
That’s right: CNN has astoundingly not only admitted that the network was completely inaccurate upon claiming Biden’s ability to serve … but it also went as far as to state that the widespread coverup was “worse than Watergate.”
And that statement was delivered by one of CNN’s apparent “stars.”
The longstanding Jake Tapper, who has thus far managed to retain his job amongst many other high-profile firings at the network, recently stunned the world by effectively groveling over the network’s apparent dishonesty in covering the Biden White House.
During an interview with Piers Morgan, who has also frequently inflamed the left, Tapper admitted that the Watergate scandal was “entirely separate” from the Biden scandal, specifically in terms of being “worse.”
“This is an entirely separate scandal. Maybe even worse … maybe even worse,” Tapper declared.
Well, you don’t say. Especially when considering Tapper’s follow-up justification.
“It is without question – and maybe even worse than Watergate in some ways because Richard Nixon was in control of his faculties when he was not drinking,” Tapper added.
Well, thanks for stating what has been obvious to most sensible Americans for many years.
It’s a shame it took the supposed legacy media several years to catch up.
Tapper also delivered an effective apology to Megyn Kelly as well, who had been one of the “leading voices critical of Tapper’s role in the cover-up,” as noted by the Daily Mail.
“Knowing what I know now, obviously I feel tremendous humility about my coverage,” Tapper admitted.
Is that so? By all means, clarify.
“There should be a lot of soul-searching not just among me but among the legacy media to begin with – all of us – for how this was covered or not covered sufficiently … I wish I could do differently,” Tapper continued.
Interesting. As the American people wished you had done “differently” as well.
Not to mention the rest of the world deceived by CNN.
Though Tapper did throw conservatives, specifically, a major bone.
“Conservative media was right,” Tapper admitted.
Was it ever!
Ironically, the phrase “worse than Watergate” has been used by the media before … though for very different reasons.
In 2004, the New York Times also used the phrase “Worse Than Watergate” … though its use pertained directly to former President George W. Bush and former vice president Dick Cheney.
Naturally, even more scandals unfolded from 2004 onwards, especially following the devastating revelations of NSA/CIA whistleblower Edward Snowden, specifically with regards to the Soviet-style surveillance tactics utilized by Bush and Obama alike.
In historical context, it is rather ironic, really, that CNN is blasting the Biden coverup as “Worse Than Watergate” just over two decades later.
