Communists Commence Fierce Battle For Control Of Critical Canal

Take that, China!

Just when it looked like China might be thwarting American influence in the Panama Canal, a rather decisive decision has been put forth.

According to a report from DOD News, it would appear that a major deal was struck between the United States and Panama, which will undoubtedly enrage the communists in Beijing.

“The U.S. and Panama signed a memorandum of understanding related to cooperative security activities in the region and that the signing of an additional declaration related to the security and operation of the Panama Canal would be forthcoming,” the DOD remarked.

Cue Chinese outrage, stat!

“The Panama Canal is key terrain that must be secured by Panama, with America, and not China,” Hegseth proclaimed.

The leading Trump ally also made it clear that this decision was a major boon for Panama, which will no longer be subjected to Chinese “coercion.”

“The era of capitulating to coercion by the communist Chinese is over. [China’s] growing and adversarial control of strategic land and critical infrastructure in this hemisphere cannot and will not stand,” Hegseth continued.

Indeed. And that infrastructure is quite critical.

“Our countries reaffirmed our shared commitment to protecting Panamanian sovereignty from maligned influence, and we recognize the foundational importance of our constitutional governments – including respect for our neutrality treaty,” Hegseth added.

Importantly, Hegseth clarified that Trump apparently does not intend to invade Panama for its canal.

“When President [Donald J.] Trump says, ‘We’re taking back the Panama Canal from Chinese influence,’ that involves partnership with the United States … And that’s what you’ll see in the memorandum of understanding: it’s an opportunity to revive … locations where U.S. troops can work with Panamanian troops to enhance capabilities and cooperate in a rotational way,” Hegseth concluded.

Naturally, the Chinese are quite outraged.

As noted by The Hill, Ministry Spokesperson Lin Jian has been openly fuming over the sudden agreement between the United States and China.

“Everyone knows who wants to control the Panama Canal … The U.S. side should take a look in the mirror to see who really threatens the sovereignty, security, and development of other countries,” Jian fumed.

Hegseth’s effective response?

Too bad.

“We want this to be a golden age for our countries, together, and for this hemisphere … We want – in short – not only to make America great again, but to make the Americas great again,” Hegseth brayed.

Now that is the collaborative spirit that many have been hoping for.
