Half the time, one can only wonder if the Democrats have even half a brain cell left between them.
After all, it never seems to occur to them that their deranged policies, in particular policies that conveniently contravene federal immigration law, are directly responsible for the chaos in which they subsequently find themselves.
Furthermore, it also never seems to occur to them that their seemingly deliberate economic incompetence, including absurd tax policies that result in largely squandered (or stolen) taxpayer funds, directly underpin unaffordable housing and a generally impossible cost of living.
Especially relative to the economic competence of red states, as evidenced by bleeding heart millionaires and billionaires fleeing for Texas and Florida.
Alas, given the total absence of self-awareness, it should come as little surprise that yet another woke governor has declared a “state of emergency” over illegal migration while simultaneously doubling down on their state’s brazen “sanctuary” status.
As reported by Fox News, Massachusetts Governor Maura Healey, an obvious Democrat, recently declared a “state of emergency” regarding illegal immigration, astonishingly calling for federal funds to address a situation that represents an egregious violation of federal laws in the first place.
According to the non-wisdom of Healey, the state of emergency is justified due to the “rapid and unabating increases in the number of families with children and pregnant people – many of them newly arriving migrants and refugees – living within the state but without the means to secure safe shelter in our communities.”
Wow.
First off, “pregnant people?” Way to insert gender nonsense into an announcement on illegal immigration.
Secondly, it appears that multiple migrants are deliberately manipulating the system via anchor babies, who become automatic citizens despite their parents clearly illegal, and oftentimes illiterate, status.
Healey also ranted and raved about “a confusing tangle of immigration laws, an inability for migrants to obtain work authorization from the federal government, an increase in the number of people coming to Massachusetts, and the lack of an affordable housing supply in our state.”
Apparently, Healey has made the absurd assumption that migrants would bother to seek out legal work in the first place; moreover, she apparently fails to link the state’s terrible economic policies to the “lack of affordable housing.”
And, rather than fix her own state’s policies, she apparently prefers to leech off the dwindling taxpayer base, robbing actual workers in favor of supporting individuals who shamelessly flout federal law while leeching off the system.
On top of that, the woke governor is dealing with far fewer migrants than border states are currently stomaching, as noted by Arizona Senator Krysten Sinema, who wisely left the Democrat Party.
“What we’re experiencing here in Arizona is matched only by what folks are experiencing in southern Texas … Those are the two communities that are experiencing this crisis. The rest of the country is experiencing some elements of it, but we are experiencing the brunt,” Sinema declared, adding that she was “livid” over New York receiving federal aid while border states bear the brunt of the problem.
Perhaps most disgustingly of all, the Massachusetts governor further doubled down on the state’s sanctuary status.
“Many of these families are migrants to Massachusetts, drawn here because we are and proudly have been a beacon to those in need,” Healey brayed.
“A beacon to those in need.” Otherwise known as gaslighting on steroids, considering Healey could care less about the “need” for a basic modicum of national security.
