How refreshing the commentary of some former House Speakers may be!
And no, not former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, who refuses to shut up despite allegedly giving up her gavel.
Former House Speaker Newt Gingrich, on the other hand, is vastly more adept than Ms. Pelosi, which showed during a recent appearance wherein he shredded the incredibly dangerous identity politics that characterize the Biden administration.
Gingrich recently shredded the hapless Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg during an appearance on “America Reports,” a Fox News program, making it abundantly clear that his absence of competence is unconscionable.
The fact he is entrusted to such a huge responsibility based purely on his bedroom antics is even more unconscionable, not to mention downright despicable from a basic public safety perspective.
Needless to say, the criticism is especially illuminating in light of the most recent hazardous derailment to strike the United States, one in which residents were warned to “stay clear.”
Rather than deal with the derailment, Buttigieg popped onto MSNBC to rant and rave about racist roads with Al Sharpton instead. Literally at the same time of the derailment.
Little wonder Gingrich is so disgusted by him.
“The Department of Transportation is an operating department. The airplanes have to fly. The trains have to move. The roads have to be built. And the ports have to operate,” Gingrich proclaimed.
And Buttigieg has had experience with exactly none of that.
“And what you have is a secretary of transportation whose peak experience was the part-time mayor of a small town. He has no possible ability to manage this huge, complex program. He proved it in the last few months when he didn’t know how to respond to the problems that happened with one airline,” Gingrich remarked disgustedly.
He certainly didn’t.
The only thing he could do was huff and puff and make a bunch of empty threats, achieving exactly nothing aside from some periodic photo ops of him appearing angry.
Like Buttigieg really cares anyway, given his egregious private jet usage, wherein the elitist doesn’t have to worry about little things like flight cancellations.
“I think Buttigieg is a perfect example of the danger of setting up some kind of program that says we don’t care how competent you are. We care whether or not you fit some box we’ve created,” Gingrich continued.
Yup.
As a white male, Buttigieg clearly had to be somewhere on the LGBTQ+ spectrum in order to qualify as one of Biden’s top Cabinet members.
Otherwise, the White House would have never given him the time of day.
“He happened to be, I think, perfect for the Biden administration because he was the kind of person who represented, for the gay community, a unique appointment. The problem was he’s incompetent. It’s not a question about his sexual orientation. It’s a question about competence,” Gingrich added pointedly.
Absolutely.
Though if one dares to point out his incompetence, and his apparent indifference towards his incompetence, they are highly likely to be blasted as a homophobe much in the same way they will be blasted as a racist for daring to call out criminals for being criminals.
Little wonder Gingrich referred to him as the “perfect symbol” of dangerously divisive identity politics.
The same types of identity politics that have led to brutal civil war across Africa and other continents for centuries.
“If the Biden administration was serious about the safety of the American people and serious about the competence of our transportation system. Buttigieg would be gone by this evening. He’s a perfect symbol of incompetency protected by political standards that, in fact, have no place in trying to run the government,” Gingrich declared.
The only saving grace is Buttigieg will, with any luck, be completely relinquished of responsibilities he never fulfilled in 2024.
