Pompeo Floats Presidential Run

Buzz surrounding the upcoming midterm elections has amplified buzz surrounding the 2024 elections, with multiple contenders on both sides of the aisle vying for an opportunity to make a run for the presidency.

On the Democrat side, several names have been floated, especially in light of the vast majority of the party allegedly not supporting Biden if his handlers decide for him to run again in 2024.

One candidate includes the wildly unpopular California Governor Gavin Newsom, who made nationwide headlines for routinely violating his own remarkably strict COVID measures, and it is likely that others, including Senator Elizabeth Warren and Senator Bernie Sanders, will join in the fray.

On the Republican side, several names in addition to former President Donald Trump’s have been floated, especially if Trump ultimately decides not to run.

One of the more popular names has included that of Florida Governor Ron DeSantis, who has surfaced as the next-most popular candidate at various CPAC conventions in straw polls.

Former Vice President Mike Pence has also sparked rumors of a potential run for the White House, especially given the fundraising dinners in which he has recently taken part.

However, a new name has joined the list of possibilities for Republican candidates: Former Secretary of State Mike Pompeo.

During a recent appearance in South Carolina, Pompeo declared that no other GOP candidate, including former President Trump, would stand in his way of a run for the White House, should he decide to enter the race.

“If I come to believe that I ought to become president, that I have something to offer the American people, I will run no matter who all decides to get in and who else decides not to get in the race,” Pompeo declared.

Pompeo’s declarations come on the heels of his defense of Trump, as the former Secretary of State openly shredded the FBI’s August 8 raid of Trump’s private residence, Mar-a-Lago.

“This was a deeply politicized use of the FBI to raid a former president, a political opponent,” Pompeo said gravely, adding that “it’s something that’s never happened in our nation before.”
