Biden Official Openly Insults Americans Who Question EV Push

During a recent appearance on Fox News, Buttigieg was pressed to explain why sales of Tesla vehicles and electric cars in general have plummeted across the nation, despite the Dems’ shameless obsession with implementing “Green Deal” initiatives.

Buttigieg, being Buttigieg, failed to answer the question directly.

Likely because all the direct answers would not reflect too favorably on the Biden administration.

After all, a direct answer would be that EV sales have failed to launch in large part because Americans are drowning in bills at the grocery store, thanks to Bidenflation.

On top of that, the nation hardly has the infrastructure to support EV charging en masse, save for the most elitist urban locales.

Another direct answer would be that Americans actually prefer classic, gas-powered cars and would rather not be on the hook for endless, unforeseeable costs associated with electric cars.

Yet another direct answer would be that EVs are not ideal for frigid temperatures, in which many Americans are dwelling now.

Yet Buttigieg decided to bypass all the direct answers in favor of a supremely snarky response.

One that effectively dismissed Americans who question EVs as the same Americans who question cell phones.

“Let’s be clear, the automotive sector is moving toward EVs and we can’t pretend otherwise,” Buttigieg began.

Sure … and the automotive sector is also continuing to produce gas-powered car after gas-powered car, year after year.

At much greater scale than EVs.

Your point, Buttigieg?

“Sometimes, when these debates happen, I feel like it’s the early 2000s and I’m talking to some people who think that we can just have landline phones forever,” Buttigieg sneered.

So, in other words, Buttigieg’s “point” was to, yet again, denigrate Americans.

Moreover, his “point” doesn’t even make sense.

After all, many Americans still have landlines.

In fact, in light of the recent AT&T hacks, more and more Americans may well be wishing they still had a landline.

Furthermore, Buttigieg’s analogy is even less apt when considering the functionality cell phones offer over landlines, as the main appeal of cell phones was their portable nature and emergency use.

EVs, on the other hand, are mainly distinct form gas-powered cars in that they are powered by electricity, rather than fossil fuels.

On top of that, EVs are a tad more difficult and expensive to charge than cell phones, assuming one can even find EV infrastructure in the first place.

Of course, Buttigieg also was sure to insist that Americans’ failure to trust EVs will allegedly empower China even further.

“[The US can] fall behind China or we can claim the lead. President Biden wants to make sure that those EVs are made in America as more Americans choose EVs,” Buttigieg insisted.

Uh huh.

If Biden was so concerned about “made in America,” he would have never taken millions from foreign communists.

Then again, if Biden was so concerned about America, period, he would have long since secured the border.

All he had to do was follow the path forged by Trump … but his Beijing paymasters expected otherwise when investing in “the Big Guy.”
