Billionaire Takes Aim At “Diversity Pick” University President

What is it with elite schools and their involvement in some of the ghastliest associations?

From their promotion of Nazi-like eugenics in the early 1900s to the apparent embrace of terrorism in the 2000s, it seems that elite schools are oftentimes on the wrong side of history.

And in the case of UPenn, MIT, and Harvard in 2023, the very wrong side.

Harvard President Claudine Gay, a rather obvious affirmative action candidate, exemplified such deranged values since the October 7 attacks, which is probably why dozens of Harvard student groups declared that Israel bore “full responsibility” for the terrorist attack on its own soil.

Billionaire Bill Ackman was not amused.

First, he demanded information on the specific students in the hateful groups, which caused some of the snowflakes to immediately withdraw from the letter.

Now, he’s taken aim at none other than Ms. Gay herself, who oversees all the hateful little students.

“I learned from someone with first person knowledge of the @Harvard president search that the committee would not consider a candidate who did not meet the DEI office’s criteria. he same was likely true for other elite universities doing searches at the same time, creating an even more limited universe of DEI-eligible presidential candidates,” Ackman drawled.

That’s amusing. Though, in truth, it doesn’t take much of an investigation to see that Ms. Gay is a rather obvious affirmative action pick.

After all, she wasn’t sharp enough to realize that perhaps it would be best to not exhibit rather brazen bias.

Ackman moved on from Gay to the heart of the problem: the inherence challenges associated with DEI efforts.

“Shrinking the pool of candidates based on required race, gender, and/or sexual orientation criteria is not the right approach to identifying the best leaders for our most prestigious universities. And it is also not good for those awarded the office of president who find themselves in a role that they would likely not have obtained were it not for a fat finger on the scale,” Ackman noted.

Absolutely! And what a hilarious, indirect insult of Ms. Kamala Harris as well, who is still, in all likelihood, angling for the presidency.

“I have been called brave for my tweets over the last few weeks. The same could be said for those called out Joseph McCarthy during the Red Scare. I don’t think it will be long before we look back on the last few years of free speech suppression and the repeated career-ending accusations of racist for those who questioned the DEI movement,” Ackman noted.

That’s a rather apt, and scary, comparison. Except now it’s the communists who have taken control.

“We are all shortly going to realize that the DEI era is the McCarthy era Part II. History rhymes, but it does not repeat,” Ackman intoned gravely.

Well, in light of the UPenn president apparently being urged to resign, one can only hope that the Harvard president won’t be far behind.
