It’s one thing to grandstand over illegal migrants, but it’s a whole other level to be caught lying about illegal migrants.
Especially when lying about the supposed presence of illegal migrants in one’s personal residence … a lie that was easily disproven, to say the least.
According to a hilarious report from the Daily Mail, woke New Jersey Governor Phil Murphy has been caught lying about the supposed illegal that he supposedly invited to live in his enormous home.
“I don’t want to get into too much detail, but there’s someone in our broader universe that … their immigration status is not yet to the point that they’re trying to get it to,” Murphy stuttered at the time, strongly implying that he had an illegal living in his home.
“We said, you know what, lets have her live at our house above our garage and good luck to the feds coming in who are trying to find her,” Murphy added arrogantly, attempting one of the lamest fights against the federal government yet as authorities attempt to remove countless illegals from the nation.
Even more hilariously, Murphy’s lie was exposed after Border Czar Tom Homan threatened to raid the New Jersey governor’s home if he was, in fact, harboring illegal migrants.
“It’s a foolish thing what he said, because I got note of it, won’t let it go, will look into it … And if he’s knowingly harboring and concealing an illegal alien… I would seek prosecution or the secretary [of homeland security] would seek prosecution,” Homan remarked, seemingly in disbelief that Murphy would do something so moronic.
In fact, Homan seemed to be onto Murphy’s lie before Murphy himself admitted it.
“So maybe he’s bluffing. If he’s not, we’ll deal with that,” Homan added crisply.
And, as it turns out, Murphy was indeed “bluffing” … or outright lying, as stated by his own team.
Guess the fear of an ICE raid really did get to him, after all.
Mahen Gunaratna, who serves as Murphy’s director of communications, admitted, “no one moved into their home. The individual in their orbit is a legal resident.”
Well, no kidding.
Multiple people who live in Murphy’s wealthy enclave in Red Bank, New Jersey have expressed disgust to the Daily Mail over the governor’s “peacocking” antics, which have added pointless fuel to the already fierce fire over illegal immigration.
“That was all a lie. I think he was just rubbing the president the wrong way. He was apparently giving him the business. I don’t know what he was expecting as a result of it. They were going to storm the house and look for her?” one neighbor remarked in irritation.
“It’s been proven a lie at this point. It is fictional,” another neighbor added in annoyance.
Frankly, it was always unbelievable that Murphy would have had an illegal migrant living in his enormous abode.
After all, the reported value of Murphy’s mansion is a staggering $9M – a rather lavish real estate asset for a “public servant.”
Then again, Murphy was previously an executive at Goldman Sachs, which is quite notorious for its coddling of former President Barack Obama after he left office.
Little wonder that Murphy has moved from Goldman to the much less aggressive governor’s route … which may well be even more lucrative in the long run.
Regardless, it appears that Murphy’s little scheme has thoroughly blown up in his face, especially with his own neighbors blasting him as a complete farce.
That said, at least Murphy won’t have to worry about ICE agents breaking down his doors anytime soon.
Though he will have to worry about being called out for his egregious misrepresentation of reality in the future … especially a misrepresentation related to illegal migrants.
