DeSantis Shows Woke Attorney The Door

Don’t mess with DeSantis!

The Florida governor is on quite a roll, giving the Democrats a number of headaches over the past few days as he blows right through their woke causes.

From unceremoniously rejecting an attention to appear on the far-left view to laughing off lame attack ads from clueless California Governor Gavin Newsom, DeSantis has scored another victory in suspending a liberal state attorney, Andrew Warren, who was apparently determined not to enforce various state abortion laws.

Needless to say, DeSantis was extremely blunt about the expectations for attorneys of the state, including the fact that they are expected to follow the law.

A troubling ask for Democrats, admittedly, yet one that is indisputably important.

“State Attorneys have a duty to prosecute crimes as defined in Florida law, not to pick and choose which laws to enforce based on his personal agenda,” DeSantis declared.

No kidding.

Then again, since Democrats think people can pick and choose gender, it is little wonder they also think they can pick and choose which laws to follow.

DeSantis, however, has a rather different approach.

“It is my duty to hold Florida’s elected officials to the highest standards for the people of Florida,” DeSantis intoned, “I have the utmost trust that Judge Susan Lopez will lead the office through this transition and faithfully uphold the rule of law.”

Translation: Lopez will actually follow the law, rather than make a woke cause out of it like Warren.

And, less the media start ranting and raving that DeSantis is a dictator, he was fully within his rights as governor to do what he did, specifically via the authority endowed under Article IV, Section 7 of the Constitution of the State of Florida.

“The constitution of Florida has vested the veto power in the governor, not in state attorneys. We are not going to allow this pathogen of ignoring the law to get a foothold in the state of Florida,” DeSantis drawled, in a rather pointed jab towards Democrat governors who have taken the reverse approach.

State AG Ashley Moody doubled down on DeSantis’s remarks, pointing out other serious issues that tend to arise with woke attorneys like Warren.

“When you see prosecutors out there that blame the victims, or blamed businesses for not having better security, and not themselves for not putting criminals behind bars –  when a prosecutor puts crime above law and order, you’re gonna have a problem,” Moody remarked.

No kidding. After all, just consider the massive crime spree filling more than one Democrat city.

“We are very, very grateful for the strong, detail-oriented leadership of this governor, and the fact that he takes seriously his responsibility to faithfully ensure that our laws are executed and our people are safe,” Moody concluded.

DeSantis taking his responsibilities seriously is precisely why he is routinely eviscerated by the press.

After all, his efficiency makes Democrats look bad.

More than that, it is pretty clear to see who poses the biggest threat to the Democrats and swamp generally by looking at who is attacked the most by the press.

By that metric, DeSantis poses a major league threat.
