Hilarious Ethics Complaint Forces Top Dem To Fork Over Thousands

For once, AOC has done something worthy of genuine laughter.

Usually, most of what AOC does is cause for laughter in disbelief – or shocked laughter – but in this particular case, the laughter is most certainly genuine.

Considering that Ms. “Fight Oligarchy” is now facing a long overdue, multi-thousand dollar fine for her rather ill-conceived “Tax the Rich” dress.

That’s right: In 2021, AOC had the gall to show up to the Met Gala in a ludicrously expensive dress with a rather succinct, paradoxical message – “Tax the Rich.”

And it seems that the House Committee on Ethics was not very amused, to put it mildly.

Issuing a scathing report, the committee noted that AOC appeared to have made some attempts to follow the rules, but that she ultimately violated basic ethical codes in a number of ways.

“Despite Representative Ocasio-Cortez’s significant attempts, the Committee found that she failed to fully comply with the Gift Rule by impermissibly accepting a gift of free admission to the 2021 Met Gala for her partner and by failing to pay full fair market value for some of the items worn to the event,” the committee noted in its report.

Of course, AOC was full of excuses, much like the vast majority of her base.

“I just never, ever, ever would have allowed that to happen, knowing what I have learned … But I wasn’t privy to the invoices, wasn’t privy to the ones that had been sent,” AOC ranted.

Yeah, yeah, yeah.

Even more hilariously? The dress designer for AOC’s dress is apparently a tax cheat herself.

“Designer Aurora James called her ‘Tax the Rich’ dress for Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez a ‘powerful message’ – but it’s not one she has taken to heart … [James] is a notorious tax deadbeat with unpaid debts dogging her in multiple states,” the New York Post reported.

And, rather naturally, the committee also found issues with the designer.

“The Committee did find evidence suggesting that the designer may have lowered costs in response to statements from Representative Ocasio-Cortez’s staff, and that payments to vendors were significantly delayed and, in several cases, did not occur until after the OCC initiated its investigation,” the Committee added.

So, the designer screws over vendors in addition to the government in terms of payments and taxes, respectively.

Par for the course.

Frankly, it is hard to say what AOC was thinking – and perhaps she wasn’t thinking at all.

For reference, the Met Gala is typically a gathering of so-called “celebrities” from the entertainment industry, not a gathering of allegedly serious-minded policymakers.

Alas, since AOC clearly does not have the brain for any sort of policy, she apparently decided that showing up at an event filled with allegedly rich, albeit absolutely self-involved, high school dropouts would be a great place to display her “vision.”

Naturally, her date was a wealthy white male, so it is likely that AOC’s passion for “taxing the rich” hardly extends to her ultra-wealthy fiancé.

As of 2025, tickets to the Met Gala reportedly cost $75,000 each, though Ms. AOC apparently was able to attend for free due to someone “gifting” her a ticket.

Indeed, Fox News noted that “it is unclear whether Ocasio-Cortez purchased her own ticket.”

No kidding!

Frankly, that “gift” is precisely why AOC has just been slammed with such a massive fine … That, and the fact that she lugged her rich fiancé along with her, who apparently couldn’t bother to cough up a single dollar.

Then again, Soros or someone just like Soros will likely pay off the penalty.

Just like someone else probably paid for fellow socialist Zohran Mamdani’s obscene, three-day party in Uganda, one of the poorest nations on the planet.

That said, the voters will likely continue to vote for AOC, or some version of AOC, while she continues to live her champagne socialist lifestyle off “grassroots” donations.
