Well, that escalated quickly.
In the span of a few weeks, Governor Gruesome Newsom of California appears to have done an about-face on reparations and illegal migrants alike, much to the rage of his ultra-woke constituents.
As reported by Politico, Governor Gavin Newsom recently, and surprisingly, vetoed a pro-illegal migrant bill, which would have made varied “undocumented” individuals eligible for up to $150,000 in loans backed by the state.
As if it’s remotely sane to loan six figures to individuals who have undergone zero background checks.
However, Newsom ultimately vetoed the bill, making it clear he will not support Assembly Bill 1840 at this point in time.
“I am returning Assembly Bill 1840 without my signature,” Newsom wrote in his veto message.
Cue the outrage from the economically and socially illiterate left.
“This bill seeks to prohibit the disqualification of applicants from one of California Housing Finance Agency’s (CalHFA) home purchase assistance programs based solely on their immigration status,” Newsom continued.
Ah, but of course. Give illegals even more housing freebies, and then wonder why more than 10 million have flooded in over Biden-Harris’s watch.
10 million illegals is the equivalent to the population of two Norways, and it’s a complete travesty that such malfeasance has been able to occur.
Of course, Newsom gaslit like crazy in his veto bill, being careful to claim it was budget concerns, and presumably budget concerns only, that have resulted in his lack of support.
“Given the finite funding available for CalHFA programs, expanding program eligibility must be carefully considered within the broader context of the annual state budget to ensure we manage our resources effectively,” Newsom continued.
Is that so? Wouldn’t Newsom have had this magical realization long before the bill was due for his signature? It’s rather strange he just suddenly claims “budget” concerns when he’s been governing as if he had all the money in the world for quite some time.
Until he drove out a huge portion of the taxpaying base.
“For this reason, I am unable to sign this bill,” Newsom brayed.
Of course he isn’t. Might that have anything to do with the fact that Ms. Harris has been slipping or stagnating in multiple polls?
Frankly, the sudden move against AB1840 is rather suspect, given that Trump has been widely criticizing all the freebies for illegals.
While Newsom claims that “budget” concerns ultimately led him not to sign, it seems that he, much like Ms. Harris, is ripping a page straight out of Trump’s book.
During a briefing, Newsom claimed that it was “unnecessary” for him to sign the bill, failing to notice that it is also “unnecessary” to have wide open borders.
“The bill that was sent to me was [on] a program that had no money, and it was expanding eligibility to a program that had no money … It seemed rather curious to me. So, it was unnecessary and completely consistent with prior vetoes along those similar lines,” Newsom declared.
Right.
Karoline Leavitt, a Trump campaign spokesperson, identified AB1840 as a “fundamentally unfair but typical Democrat policy,” as it is clearly one that only the most radical voters will agree with.
Rather interestingly, Newsom’s move emerged all of one day after top presidential candidate Donald Trump would ban illegal migrants from receiving loans for homes.
Little wonder that
Republican State Senator Brian Dahle observed that Newsom appeared to be “reading the tea leaves” with regards to his sudden move against AB 1840.
“He’s the master of gaslighting. I mean, they’ve been doing it forever. I’ve been here 12 years, and all they do is politics,” Dahle declared.
All while his comrade Kamala continues to gleefully follow his gaslit footprints.
