Over 5,000 Security Threats Allowed Entry Under Biden

A newly uncovered government document has revealed something very troubling about the Biden administration’s handling of the Afghanistan withdrawal. More than 5,000 Afghan migrants who were brought into the United States under President Biden’s “Operation Allies Welcome” were flagged for serious national security concerns. That means over 5,000 people who may pose a danger to our country were allowed to enter anyway. This is not just a mistake — it is a failure of leadership and common sense.

The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) shared this information in a letter to Senator Chuck Grassley. In total, nearly 7,000 Afghan individuals had what the DHS called “potential derogatory information,” which is a fancy way of saying there were warning signs about them. Of that number, 5,005 were flagged for national security threats, 956 for public safety issues, and 876 for fraud. Even worse, nearly 900 of these cases still have not been resolved. That means potential threats are still out there, years after they arrived.

Let’s be clear: these people were brought here because Biden rushed the evacuation from Afghanistan in 2021. Instead of taking time to screen people properly, the Biden team pushed speed over safety. Reports from government inspectors say the process was sloppy and full of holes. That opened the door for dangerous individuals to slip through. And they did.

One of those individuals was Rahmanullah Lakanwal, an Afghan migrant who came to the U.S. under this same program. Just last week, he allegedly shot two members of our National Guard in Washington, D.C. One of them, 20-year-old Sarah Beckstrom, died on Thanksgiving. This was not just a crime. It was a tragedy that could have been prevented if proper vetting had been done.

And this was not an isolated event. Just one day before the D.C. shooting, another Afghan migrant was arrested in Texas. He had posted a video on social media threatening to bomb the Fort Worth area. His name is Mohammad Dawood Alokozay, and he is now in jail. But how many more threats are still out there?

Senator Grassley said he raised concerns about weak screening standards years ago. But the Biden administration ignored him. Now, with lives lost and threats growing, his warnings have become reality. Thankfully, President Trump has ordered a full review of security protocols. He is taking action to fix what the Biden team left behind.

The Biden administration brought more than 70,000 Afghans into the U.S. after the Afghanistan pullout. At least 55 people on terror watch lists made it past the border. That is not just a mistake — that is a national security disaster. And who paid for all of this? We did. American taxpayers have spent more than $14 billion on Afghan evacuees since 2021. That includes nearly $9 billion just for Operation Allies Welcome, and another $5 billion for its follow-up program, Enduring Welcome.

This is not how our system is supposed to work. The Constitution gives the federal government the duty to protect its citizens. That means securing the border, vetting who comes into our country, and making sure no one is brought in who could do us harm. Biden’s team failed in that duty. And now Americans are paying the price.

President Trump is doing what should have been done from the beginning — putting the safety of Americans first. He is reviewing asylum cases and tightening security for people coming from high-risk countries. That is leadership. That is what the Constitution demands.

We must never forget: national security is not a partisan issue. It is a matter of survival. We cannot allow political pressure or globalist ideals to replace common sense. Our government’s first job is to protect us. When it fails, it must be held accountable. And when it gets back on the right path, we must support it.

The American people deserve answers. More than that, they deserve safety. Let this be a wake-up call. It is time to put America first again — in our borders, in our policies, and in our priorities.
