It’s about time someone came up with a sensible plan for ending the Ukraine War, even if ending the war is not a popular option for warmongers.
That said, President Donald Trump campaigned on ending the war, amongst many other promises, and that’s precisely why Rubio has bulldozed forward in attempting to carve out a peace plan.
According to a report from the Daily Mail, Secretary of State Marco Rubio has devised four different principles that should help the United States, Russia, and Ukraine negotiate.
Naturally, other affected parties across Europe could participate as well, provided that they get their act together and stop their ridiculous anti-Trump approach.
“First, he said the U.S. and Moscow will work to reestablish their respective diplomatic missions in each other’s countries so they can move forward with more communication,” the Daily Mail detailed.
Fair point.
Absent diplomatic missions, constructive dialogue likely is not even possible, which means that senseless bloodshed continues.
“Second, Rubio said the U.S. will appoint a high-level team to help negotiate, and third, they will begin to discuss geopolitical and economic cooperation that could help resolve the conflict,” the Daily Mail continued.
Again, actions that are desperately needed, yet, for whatever reason, were vehemently avoided by the Biden administration.
“Fourth, he said that the five people who were involved in the first meeting will remain engaged, so they know it is moving along ‘in a productive way,’” the Daily Mail concluded.
In other words, Rubio is stressing consistency, rather than haphazard geopolitical stances with limited to no teeth.
Rubio also made it abundantly clear that no other world leader is sufficiently equipped to address the ongoing challenges on the Ukraine front.
“The only leader in the world who can make this happen, who can even bring people together to begin to talk about it in a serious way is President Trump,” Rubio declared.
Absolutely.
For some troubling reason, Zelensky seems especially opposed to any peace agreement.
While disagreement with some elements of the proposed peace deal is understandable and should be addressed, it would appear that Zelensky is especially resistant.
Then again, he did benefit handsomely from the war … It’s unlikely he would have had a Vogue photoshoot, for instance, had he not been a “war president.”
“He did this while kids are dying in trenches on the war front,” Musk tweeted, linking to an ill-informed Vogue article.
Zelensky also was able to suspend elections due to the war, so there’s that.
Perhaps most surprisingly of all, China, rather than Europe, appears the most keen on peace.
China was reportedly delighted, per a report from France24, given its remarks at the recent G20 meeting in South Africa.
“China supports all efforts conducive to peace (in Ukraine), including the recent consensus reached between the United States and Russia. China is willing to continue playing a constructive role in the political resolution of the crisis,” Wang Yi detailed.
Well, how about that.
Who would have thought that Trump would receive more support from China than Europe on such a critically important geopolitical matter?
