Looks like Denver Mayor Mike Johnston has finally had to resume his migrant displacement scheme, once realizing the realities of openly encouraging an endless stream across the border.
Indeed, Denver has already blown at least $25M to shelter migrants, monies that were undoubtedly taken from the police and other vital services for Americans, including Americans who hilariously demand to “defund” the police.
Now, Johnston, like the woke mayors of Boston, Chicago, and New York have realized that their “sanctuary cities” are hardly sustainable.
And now Johnston has admitted to spending millions of dollars transferring illegal migrants elsewhere.
However, like most Democrats, Johnston couldn’t do so without making some ridiculous excuse.
In fact, he didn’t even bother to address his displacement scheme of migrants, which involves shipping them out of the city, as Texas Governor Greg Abbott has long since done.
Abbott is also dealing with vastly more illegals, to the tune of millions, while Chicago whines about a few thousand.
After openly encouraging illegal migration through its so-called “sanctuary” status.
According to a spokesperson for Denver City, Johnston is apparently paying for illegal migrants to go elsewhere because they “have other destinations in mind.”
“We provide migrant guests who wish to stay in Denver with shelter and support. However, we also understand that many individuals arriving in Denver from the southern border have other destinations in mind,” the spokesperson sniffed.
Yeah. Like which destinations give the highest degree of welfare.
Such as New York City Mayor Eric Adams shutting down $700+ per night luxury hotels to give illegal migrants free stays.
Needless to say, even more migrants swarmed the city after that debacle.
“This is often because they have built-in support systems from family and friends in those cities, or because they believe they will have a better chance at finding work that suits their skills,” the spokesperson continued.
Of course they have “built-in support systems” in cities that refuse to end “sanctuary” status.
After all, generation of generation of illegals swarming the nation has consequences, especially when the current regime is currently overseeing one of the greatest illegal migrations to America in modern history.
All while geopolitical tensions are boiling. What else could possibly go wrong?
Well, as it turns out, plenty can go wrong, especially when Democrat mayors continue to “prioritize” illegals over American citizens.
“Our priority is to ensure migrant guests are treated fairly and are placed in the situation that fits their needs. Individual tickets are purchased based on destination requests directly from migrants to various cities, after insurances are gathered that the individual or family truly desires the intended location,” Johnston continued.
Gee, how about that.
Literally only in America can someone illegally cross the border, demand a bunch of things for free, including a plane ticket to wherever they want.
Meanwhile, bungling Buttigieg fixes nothing with transportation while Americans pay for ever-escalating airfare costs, several of which can be attributed to illegal freeloaders in the first place.
What a system.
Even worse, the system will never end, until Democrat mayors do something differently … or until the system collapses on itself entirely, taking everyone with it.
