“A mistake was made and we regret the choice that was made.”
So babbled a disgruntled NFL employee who admits that the sports league made “a mistake” in enlisting ultra-liberal, insanely pro-BLM Kendrick Lamar to deliver a bizarre halftime show rife with supremely negative energy.
Well, no kidding. Especially as Kendrick Lamar took the place of a vastly preferable alternative.
“To add to the controversy, the ‘Not Like Us’ rapper was chosen for the gig ahead of New Orleans native Lil Wayne, who reportedly received a letter of apology from the NFL when the choice was announced last year,” the Daily Mail observed.
Is that so?
Frankly, it’s rather unsurprising that the NFL decided to go with the thuggish, insanely pro-PLM Kendrick Lamar over Lil’ Wayne, another rapper, when looking just a bit more deeply into Lil Wayne’s history.
After all, Lil’ Wayne was previously pardoned by President Donald Trump … and the New Orleans native openly endorsed Trump for president.
“Just had a great meeting with @realdonaldtrump @potus … besides what he’s done so far with criminal reform, the platinum plan is going to give the community real ownership. He listened to what we had to say today and assured he will and can get it done,” Lil’ Wayne proudly tweeted.
Naturally, the NFL is not going to reward such behavior, regardless of the fact that Lil’ Wayne is a New Orleans native.
Instead, the NFL would rather go with a “rapper” whose primary claim to fame in recent years has been siding with the violent BLM while also starting ridiculous conflicts with other high-profile artists … the type of conflicts that have led to the murder of more than one rapper.
And after delivering a halftime show that was bizarre, to say the least, it seems the NFL has finally started to wake up to the fact that it really can cool it with its apparent BLM obsession.
“Lil Wayne should have been the first option, as he is from New Orleans and we know that there was a clear motivation for him and his side to do a unique show in his town,” the NFL employee added.
Well, yeah. Quite a few people could have said that.
Skip Bayless, a close friend of Lil’ Wayne, outlined all the ways in which the NFL is apparently not into meritocracy (at all) when it comes to BLM-driven politics.
“A letter that thanked him for his years of supporting the league, not just the Packers, his favorite team, but supporting and promoting the NFL, in general, which he has. I mean, he makes weekly appearances on the NFL’s Sunday pregame show, ‘NFL GameDay Morning’ on the NFL Network,” Bayless remarked in irritation, noting that the letter was an apology from the NFL for choosing the Diddy-associated Kendrick Lamar.
After all, top Diddy associate Jay-Z apparently made Kendrick Lamar the halftime show, somehow, some way.
“But [Lil’ Wayne] will not play Sunday’s halftime show, and he definitely won’t watch a second of Sunday’s halftime show. He will watch the game, just not the halftime show. Not one second,” Bayless added.
Lil’ Wayne also noted that he blamed himself after the debacle, mainly as he had gotten his hopes raised so highly about the prospects of playing in his home city.
“I blame myself for not being mentally prepared for a letdown and for just automatically mentally putting myself in that position,’ he said on an Instagram Live stream. I thought there was nothing better than that spot, that stage, that platform, in my city. So it hurt, it hurt a whole lot,” Lil’ Wayne remarked morosely.
Well, Lil’ Wayne certainly is not the self-declared DEI type … starting with saying, “I blame myself.”
Fortunately for Lil’ Wayne, the NFL now gets to blame itself even more aggressively, and the pro-Trump rapper can rest assured knowing that he was vindicated in the end.
