The devastating terrorist attack in Israel has resulted in multiple tragedies, including numerous high-profile “influencers” apparently siding with Hamas.
Supermodel Gigi Hadid, whose father is Palestinian, attracted ire from Israel when she gave her uneducated two cents about the conflict shortly after the Hamas attack.
“There is nothing Jewish about the Israeli government’s treatment of Palestinians. Condemning the Israeli government is not antisemitic and supporting Palestinians is not supporting Hamas,” Hadid proclaimed on her social media, shortly after the Hamas attack.
Well, is that so? Is there anything truly “Islamic” about what Hamas, the de facto political body in Gaza has done to Israel?
Ms. Hadid made things even worse when she spread outright disinformation weeks later, including the outrageous claim that Israel is “the only country in the world that keeps children as prisoners of war.”
First off, that statement is wildly inaccurate, underscoring the rather obvious lack of education Ms. Hadid has.
Secondly, to “support” her argument, Hadid actually had the gall to whine about the teenaged Palestinian terrorist Ahmed Mansara being held as a so-called prisoner of war.
Per Hadid’s disinformation, Mansara “has endured solitary confinement despite his severe health condition.”
Alas, Hadid declined to note that Mansara has also been held due to a violent knife attack in Jerusalem, indisputably proclaiming his effective allegiance to terrorism.
On top of that, Hamas took multiple children hostage during the siege on Israel, which makes Hadid’s remarks even more ignorant.
Music executive Scooter Braun was aghast by the supermodel’s commentary, noting that she was clearly spreading misinformation to nearly 80 million impressionable individuals.
“I know people mean well but when you say a child was abducted when it turns out it was a teenager who went out and stabbed two random innocent civilians including a 12-year-old on camera and then stated, ‘I wanted to stab Jews.’ Let’s get our facts right before we post to 78 million people,” Braun remarked wryly.
Seriously, Ms. Hadid. Perhaps find another “child” prisoner of war to defend.
Assuming there are any … as there are plenty being held in Gaza now.
However, the State of Israel was even more forthright in its approach to Hadid’s online lunacy.
Indeed, the official social media account for the State of Israel made its feelings abundantly clear.
“There is nothing valiant about Hamas’ massacre of Israelis. Condemning Hamas for what it is (ISIS) is not anti-Palestine and supporting Israelis in their right against barbaric terrorists is the right thing to do,” Israel pointedly declared.
The nation also noted that Hadid was rather selective in her victimization narrative.
“Have you been sleeping the past week? Or are you just fine turning a blind eye to Jewish babies being butchered in their homes? Your silence has been very clear about where you stand. We see you,” the American ally continued.
Unfortunately, nearly 80 million followers also see her disinformation, which will further stoke irrevocable division.
