One can only imagine how President Donald Trump will react to the latest move made by former “First Buddy” Elon Musk.
From the epic fallout over Epstein to the more recent formation of Musk’s America Party, it is rather clear that the two billionaires are following increasingly divergent trajectories.
And one of Musk’s trajectories just happened to align directly with the strategic planning of the Pentagon … As Grok, a powerful chatbot that seamlessly integrates with X. Also known as xAI, Grok is known for its “unfiltered” approach.
In a post on X, Grok, or xAI, detailed the ways in which its services are of potential value to the Pentagon.
“Announcing Grok for Government – a suite of products that make our frontier models available to United States Government customers,” Grok proclaimed.
“A suite of products” is promising, suggesting a multifaceted partnership between Musk and the government.
As reported in Politico, Grok has a strong value proposition across many fields of governmental interest.
“The contract, which has a $200 million ceiling, details new project ideas including custom models for national security and critical science applications and custom AI-powered applications to accelerate use cases in health care, fundamental science and national security,” Politico detailed.
Grok also offered greater insight into the different ways in which its “suite” of relevant products could and would be procured.
“We are especially excited about two new partnerships for our US Government partners
1) a new contract from the US Department of Defense
2) our products being available to purchase via the General Services Administration (GSA) schedule,” xAI continued.
In other words, Grok is the ostensible embodiment of the efficiency catalyzed by DOGE.
And, according to Grok, xAI products will align well with virtually any government entity’s needs.
“This allows every federal government department, agency, or office, to purchase xAI products We’re hiring mission driven engineers who want to join the cause,” Grok concluded.
Well then. That remark will likely roil some at the White House.
Oddly enough, the announcement regarding Musk emerges during a time when various media outlets are gloating about the decline in Trump’s overall approval ratings.
According to a report from Forbes, the decline can be attributed to widespread disapproval of the “big, beautiful bill.”
Which Musk notoriously referred to as an “abomination.”
Most recently, Musk has been nabbing headlines for his rather heavy-handed references to Jeffrey Epstein and Trump, gleefully exploiting the fissures amongst many conservatives regarding the DOJ’s decision to release no further information on the disgraced financier.
And, perhaps most blatantly of all, Musk is utilizing none other than Grok to continue fueling massive rumors regarding Epstein, as detailed by The Hill.
“Are there likely to be electronic records in any government or commercial computers recording who traveled on Epstein’s plane to the US Virgin Islands?” Musk queried.
According to Grok, such records “likely exist.”
Musk continued to animate Grok, demanding even more detail regarding Epstein’s illicit activities from Grok.
“Would that mean the government right now – as we speak – knows the names & ages of all those who traveled on Epstein’s plane? In other words, they have a list of all unaccompanied minors on those flights, along with a list of all adults on those flights?” Musk gleefully queried.
Grok replied that both the FAA and DOJ likely have “extensive passenger manifests and flight logs from Epstein’s jets,” though ages are not always included.
Names, however, are.
Given Musk’s antics with Grok, it is not terribly surprising that Trump recently announced that some files associated with Epstein would be released … notably the transcripts of grand jury testimonies that pertained to Epstein.
However, if those transcripts provide limited substance, calls for the release of Epstein files are likely to continue, whether or not such files are readily available.
In the meantime, it appears that Musk is taking advantage of the chaos surrounding the president to move even more deeply into influential circles within the Pentagon.
