Biden Snubs Marine For Woke WNBA Star

Oops, he did it again!

That’s right: In yet another epic snub to patriotic Americans, coupled with obvious pandering to the far left, the Biden administration has apparently decided it’s a great idea to let a U.S. Marine continue to rot in a Russian prison while anti-American WNBA “star” Brittney Griner is freed.

Emphasis on “star,” as both Biden and Obama clearly value celebrities over hardworking Americans, especially since celebrities routinely serve as their mindless mouthpieces.

Which is precisely why Biden has been shredded by multiple individuals, including other Democrats, since making his dastardly deal with Putin.

A deal that freed a veritable merchant of death, by the way, who is now free to continue his mass weapons trafficking so that Griner can come back to the United States and complain about the national anthem some more.

“Moments ago, I spoke to Brittney Griner. She is safe. She is on a plane. She is on her way home, after months of being unjustly detained in Russia, held under intolerable circumstances. Brittney will soon be back in the arms of her loved ones, and she should have been there all along. This is a day we’ve worked toward for a long time. We never stopped pushing for her release,” Biden bragged.

Respectfully, Mr. President, Paul Whelan, a veteran, has been detained in Russia for four years, whereas Ms. Griner, deplorable as her conditions undoubtedly were, was incarcerated for mere months.

Moreover, Griner actually committed brought marijuana into Russia, despite having worked there (and made millions there) for years, whereas Whelan is being held on basically non-existent charges.

Of course, the White House prioritizes celebrities, even ones who have taken an avowedly anti-American stance. Perhaps especially those who have taken an anti-American stance, if only to stir up the youth against their own nation.

Democrat Senator Bob Menendez, however, who serves as Chairman of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, is clearly perturbed by the agreement, even if he cannot outright criticize Biden for fear of cancellation.

“We must stop inviting dictatorial and rogue regimes to use Americans overseas as bargaining chips, and we must try to do better at encouraging American citizens against traveling to places like Russia where they are primary targets for this type of unlawful detention,” Menendez said carefully.

Translation: Perhaps Griner shouldn’t make multiple millions off of Russia while simultaneously complaining about America (and later wanting America to rescue her), and perhaps she should also respect Russian laws, draconian as they may be, with regards to drugs.

Or, simply, follow the lead of Menendez and simply not go, though those Russian millions were apparently too hard to resist.

To be fair, at least Griner earned her millions more “honestly” from Russia playing basketball, which is her real profession.

Same can’t be said for the “Big Guy” …

Menendez continued on to note the general issue of “hostage-taking” with Americans overseas, and he urged “deep reflection.”

“This should be a moment of deep reflection for the United States government to recognize we have a serious problem with hostage-taking of Americans,” Menendez continued.

One thing is for sure: Don’t turn to White House Press Secretary Jean-Pierre for any “reflection.”

She does nothing but spout propaganda and feign outrage whenever she’s asked a real question (that she never has to actually answer).

Menendez also, rather amazingly, highlighted what a terrible deal the Biden administration received, chiefly by trading one American basketball player for a massive arms trafficker.

Apparently, Biden couldn’t even trade two Americans for one massive criminal, who is now free to terrorize the world. Including Americans and their allies.

“The Russians and other regimes that take American citizens hostage cannot pretend that there is equivalence between the Brittney Griners of the world and people like Viktor Bout, the so-called ‘Merchant of Death.’ Nothing could be further from the truth, and we cannot ignore that releasing Bout back into the world is a deeply disturbing decision,” Menendez continued.

No kidding. Considering Bout is an extremely dangerous character, it is clear that this deal will directly contribute to imminent bloodshed.

Pretty pathetic, considering that Trump managed to score major peace deals, in which no massive arms trafficker was freed, while Biden barely manages to get a basketball player home.

Of course, he blew off the Marine, who Menendez has the decency to mention.

“My heart also goes out to the families of other American citizens in Russian prisons and labor camps, including Paul Whelan. They have my renewed commitment and determination to use the power of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee to secure Mr. Whelan’s safe return and to continue fighting for the release of all Russian political prisoners, like Vladimir Kara Murza, and all other unjustly detained Americans,” Menendez added.

One can only hope the Biden administration will really do what it claims with regards to working hard towards Whelan’s release.

Sadly, however, Biden appears to have had more “success” getting a basketball player after a few months, who will clearly double down as his cheerleader.

However, not exactly everyone was impressed.

Dallas Cowboys linebacker Micah Parsons, for instance, reacted with disbelief to the White House’s poor bargaining.

“Wait nah!! We left a marine?!! Hell nah,” Parsons tweeted in disgust.

Whelan himself is struggling, though his family graciously acknowledged Biden’s “success” in releasing Griner.

“I am greatly disappointed that more has not been done to secure my release, especially as the four-year anniversary of my arrest is coming up. I was arrested for a crime that never occurred. I don’t understand why I’m still sitting here,” Whelan continued.

Unfortunately, it is because Biden can’t score enough points with the woke by securing the release of a Marine.

One can only hope Whelan will not wait too much longer, especially given all the extraordinary effort expended for Griner.
