DeSantis Shuts Down Media Speculation

Florida Governor Ron DeSantis has attracted a surplus of media attention ever since his resounding victory over Democrat Charlie Crist.

In fact, DeSantis’s victory was so pronounced, one does wonder why so many other states have apparently found it difficult to replicate the rapid counting of votes that Florida has become known for.

Exhibit A: Arizona, which apparently still can’t get its act together, after more “issues” unsurprisingly arose in largely conservative Maricopa County.

Regardless of these issues, the popularity of governors such as DeSantis is beyond dispute following the midterms.

Which is likely why the mainstream media really is intent on whipping up a so-called “Civil War” within the Republican ranks.

After all, the mainstream media has certainly publicized a ‘Ron to the Rescue’ (‘PAC’), which has garnered increased attention after former President Donald J. Trump announced his intentions to run for the White House again.

Naturally, the media was sure to whip up public discontent against Trump, including drawing increased attention to Florida Governor Ron DeSantis, who handily beat his Democrat opponent by nearly 20 points.

While DeSantis has deliberately stayed mum on any prospects in 2024, especially in the wake of Trump’s announcement, others clearly haven’t, as evidenced by the formulation of the DeSantis PAC.

The problem is that DeSantis himself never sanctioned the PAC, which means that its actions and initiatives may become conflated with the governor’s policies themselves.

Benjamin Gibson, who serves as legal counsel for DeSantis, noted that the PAC appeared to have developed “in order to boost a potential 2024 presidential run from Governor Ron DeSantis.’”

Gibson also noted that the PAC “is similar to other ‘pro-DeSantis’ PACs that have formed and continue to use Ron DeSantis’ name and likeness to raise funds without his permission or authorization.”

“Ron to the Rescue” was developed by GOP strategist John Thomas, who explained his reasoning to Fox News Digital.

“We couldn’t be more proud to support Ron DeSantis 100% as our nation desperately needs strong, battle-tested leadership. The intention of our group is to lay the groundwork and harness the energy for Ron DeSantis so that he may hit the ground running if and when he decides to officially run,” Thomas declared.

Well, that statement certainly sounds reasonable.

The website itself seems to describe DeSantis as nothing short of a miraculous political creation, or “someone with the bravery of President Lincoln, the charm of President Reagan, and the determination of President Trump.”

As flattering as this portrayal is, the reality is that DeSantis is not officially coordinating with Thomas, which could lead to an inaccurate conflation.

Gibson detailed the issues associated with the conflation, especially when considering the potential misrepresentation of intentions.

“Whether well intentioned or not, the organizers of these PACs have not been in contact with DeSantis leadership and such efforts may create confusion amongst supporters of the Governor and his policies,” Gibson added.

Especially when those intentions appear intent on keeping Trump out, at any and all costs necessary.

“We view it to be of critical importance to organize and communicate with Americans now so that Donald Trump and other potential Republican candidates do not gain any advantage in the meantime. Since our launch, we have been encouraged and thrilled with the outpouring of support from Americans across the nation who want and believe Ron DeSantis should be the next President of the United States,” Thomas declared.

Well then. Way to admit that at least part of the motivation of the PAC is to ensure that Trump does not obtain “any advantage” in the meantime.

Given the fresh weaponization of the DOJ against Trump after his 2024 announcement, courtesy of the media and Biden administration, any such advantage appears elusive, at best.

Nonetheless, as a savvy governor and an increasingly savvy politician, DeSantis recognizes a potential media hitjob in advance before it occurs, which is why his legal counsel has taken great pains to ensure DeSantis is not improperly conflated with the PAC.

“It is important to make clear to supporters that Governor DeSantis and his team are not affiliated with the ‘Ron to the Rescue’ PAC, have not authorized it to conduct any activity on their behalf, and contributions made to the ‘Ron to the Rescue’ PAC will not benefit Governor DeSantis or his agenda,” Gibson declared.

Unfortunately, the PAC may impact the conservative agenda, especially if it contributes, directly or indirectly, to the media’s ongoing fixation on creating division within the Republican Party.

As if the deliberate division between Democrats and Republicans isn’t bad enough … the media has to attempt to dismantle the conservatives entirely.

Paving the way towards one-party rule, a la China … the same nation known for empowering “the Big Guy.”
