Perennially Outraged Al Sharpton Wages War On Beloved American Brand

Leave it to one of the biggest BLM activists of all time to stir up fresh trouble in the American economy, right as the economy appears to be somewhat stabilizing.

As reported by the Daily Mail, Reverend Al Sharpton is back in the public eye and back to what he’s doing best – issuing relentless threats.

Sharpton, who has predictably found consistent employment as an MSNBC “host,” is apparently outraged that PepsiCo has dared to eliminate DEI initiatives, despite the fact that the company was complying with a presidential executive order.

“You have walked away from equity,” Sharpton ranted.

Ah, yes. Good old “equity” rather than equality.

Sharpton continued to rage that Pepsi’s decision is a “clear [signal] that political pressure has outweighed principle.”

Rather ironic, coming from someone who jumped on the BLM bandwagon.

And, in his typically dictatorial way, Sharpton also issued an open threat to PepsiCo – restore DEI initiatives, or they will face the wrath of his well-funded protests.

“This weekend at the National Action Network Saturday Action Rally, I gave PepsiCo 21 days. Not to think about it, to reverse course on walking away from DEI … We helped to build their brand. We won’t fund our own exclusion. If they don’t respond, we begin the boycott. We will not be silent while our dollars are used against our dignity,” Sharpton raged.

Rather astonishingly, Sharpton was unafraid to reference Martin Luther King to justify his war on Pepsi.

Or, more accurately, Martin Luther King III, one of King’s descendants.

Nonetheless, Sharpton knew the effect the name would have upon his target audience.

“Martin Luther King the Third and others joined me as we put on notice those companies, like Pepsi-Cola, that we will withdraw patronage from those that do not live up to what they voluntarily committed in DEI,” Sharpton continued.

On Pepsi’s part, the bemused company noted that it “could not comment,” as it had yet to even receive the theoretical letter from Sharpton.

“A spokesperson for PepsiCo told the Associated Press they had not received the letter and could not comment,” the Daily Mail observed.

A tad humorous, to put it mildly.

In the meantime, others were aghast by Sharpton’s bullying, especially considering his own less than savory behavior.

“What a Grifter! Surprised he doesn’t advise everyone not to pay taxes! Keep riding your bogus Foundation!” one online user remarked.

“Based on the grifter Al, I will now buy more Pepsi products than I have ever done before. You are a pathetic example of a human being and should be ashamed of yourself. We the people give you 21 days to pay your taxes,” another individual commented.

That’s the thing about starting a public fight with a beloved American brand … all one’s past errors come back to haunt them.
