“We were persecuted, Eric. I was persecuted, and so are you, Eric.”
So declared then-presidential candidate to Donald Trump to beleaguered New York City Mayor Eric Adams just weeks before the election.
Indeed, despite Adams’s allegiance to the Dems – which may well be changing in light of how they treated him – Trump recognized political weaponization against the mayor from more than a mile away.
New York City was one of the hardest hit cities from the illegal migration crisis, in part due to absurd “sanctuary cities” policies passed before Adams’s tenure.
And, when Adams dared to complain about the sanctuary city policies and the Biden-Harris administration alike, he suddenly found himself under a massive federal investigation.
Because political weaponization is clearly the way the Dems roll.
Fortunately for Mayor Adams, Trump, rather than Comrade Kamala, took charge, and Trump remembered the promises that he made to the ailing mayor.
As noted by a letter addressed from the acting Deputy Attorney General to the Attorney General for the Southern District of New York, the investigation against Adams has officially ended under the Trump-Vance administration.
“You are directed, as authorized by the Attorney General, to dismiss the pending charges in United States v. Adams, No.24Cr.556 (SDNY) as soon as is practicable,” the letter declared.
Well, what should be “practicable” is for such an absurd investigation to never occur in the first place.
Though at least Adams can now escape the wrath of the globalists, who clearly had him pegged ever since he called attention to the real costs of illegal migration.
“It cannot be ignored that Mayor Adams criticized the prior Administration’s immigration policies before the charges were filed,” the letter noted pointedly.
Much like the investigations into Trump began after he announced his run for president.
A pitiably transparent move on the corrupt swamp’s part, but at least the voters saw right through it.
The delightful letter, which fully counteracts the Biden-Harris administration’s weaponization of the judicial system, may be reviewed in its entirety here.
In a statement to the Daily Mail, Adams’s attorney, Alex Spiro, argued that his client had finally been vindicated, after fifteen months of chaos, thanks to Biden.
“As I said from the outset, the mayor is innocent – and he would prevail. Today he has. The Department of Justice has reevaluated this case and determined it should not go forward. There is good reason for that,” Spiro declared.
Without a doubt. The “good reason” being that it was nothing more than a political witch hunt against Adams for daring to challenge mass migration.
“Despite a lot of fanfare and sensational claims, ultimately there was no evidence presented that he broke any laws, ever. The witnesses that were promised never materialized,” Spiro added.
Much like the trial proceedings against Trump, in other words.
Lots of media hoopla … not so much substantial evidence.
Adams himself is also clearly grateful, which he made clear in a statement.
“As I said from the outset, I never broke the law and I never would. I would never put any personal benefit above my solemn responsibility as your mayor. I thank the Justice Department for its honesty. Now, we can put this cruel episode behind us and focus entirely on the future of our city. It’s time to move forward,” Adams asserted.
Fortunately, the Trump-Vance administration has made moving forward the clear name of the game, as they continue to score win after win … again and again.
