Looks like Mr. Unity, who masquerades as president, is hardly into so-called unity after all.
As reported by Fox News, Biden recently shot down a rare bipartisan effort, especially as the bipartisanship was evident across both the House and the Senate.
In an effort to combat the rising economic, and by default military, power of Beijing, lawmakers attempted to bolster American jobs by placing protective tariffs against Chinese solar panels.
Notably, these panels are not only produced cheaply due to currency manipulation, but also due to the fact that they are largely produced by literal slave labor within China.
Little wonder that China reportedly controls more than 80 percent of the solar panel industry worldwide.
However, despite the bipartisan efforts of lawmakers, Biden abruptly vetoed the bill, offering perhaps the lamest excuse possible.
“Passage of this resolution bets against American innovation … It would undermine these efforts and create deep uncertainty for American businesses and workers in the solar industry. Therefore, I am vetoing this resolution,” Biden declared in a ghostwritten statement.
Wow. And permitting China to continue cheating in terms of trade by offering cheaper, slave-produced products is “undermining” varied human rights efforts as well, Mr. President.
What a disgraceful response.
Fortunately, a number of individuals, including multiple Democrats, are not buying Biden’s nonsense, and they are quite peeved.
Democrat Senator Joe Manchin, for instance, called out America’s overt dependence on China for far too much.
“The United States relies on foreign nations, like China, for far too many of our energy needs, and failing to enforce our existing trade laws undermines the goals of the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law and Inflation Reduction Act to onshore our energy supply chains, including solar … I cannot fathom why the Administration and Congress would consider extending that reliance any longer and am proud to join this CRA to rescind the rule,” Manchin declared.
Well, have a look at varied Bidens’ bank accounts, filled with ill-begotten Chinese money. That is one way that one could “fathom” Biden’s latest anti-American move.
Democrat Representative Dan Kildee was also dismayed by Biden’s decision to bolster Beijing.
“I am disappointed that President Biden vetoed this important legislation … Failing to stand up to those who engage in unfair trade practices hurts American workers and manufacturers. Our workers and businesses will never be able to compete globally unless we hold those who violate U.S. trade laws accountable,” Kildee declared, openly stating what former President Donald Trump noted repeatedly throughout his presidency.
“The president’s position, and today’s veto, fails to hold China accountable and hurts American workers … Congress passed this bipartisan resolution with strong support from Republicans and Democrats. Now that the president has vetoed this bill, Congress should once again vote to override today’s veto without delay,” Kildee added pointedly.
Says quite a bit when Democrats intend to try circumventing the president again, most of all in terms of Biden’s crazed allegiance to foreign entities.
Democrat Senator Sherrod Brown spoke specifically about the negative effect on American workers that Biden’s veto would have, especially since China openly manipulates currency and ensures that the world becomes dependent on its exports.
“I’ve fought my whole career to stand up for Ohio manufacturers and Ohio workers when they’re forced to compete with cheap, unfairly subsidized imports – I’m not going to stop now … The Chinese government will do anything to undermine American manufacturing, and would like nothing more than to kill the American solar manufacturing industry before it takes of,” Brown declared.
Of course the CCP would love to kill the solar manufacturing industry in America, along with every other industry that has long made the United States one of the most competitive economies in the world.
It’s a real shame that their buddy is in the White House, especially as he remains resolutely anti-American.
