Democrats Rant And Rave About “Racist” Arrests of Blatant Car Thieves

Half the time, it almost seems like Democrat lawmakers in California are attempting to compete in terms of who can come up with the dumbest policy.

And such competition was on full display recently, when Democrat Nithya Raman decided to blame carmakers, rather than criminals, for the rise in car thefts across the state.

Predictably, Raman appears to have obtained her job for no other reason, aside from checking off certain DEI requirements.

And her idiocy was on full display during a local council meeting in Los Angeles … which has hardly become the “City of Angels” it portrays itself to be.

“In this case, I think one of the things that infuriates me is that we have a company – whatever, Toyota – who makes the Prius, that essentially has a device on their cars which is super easy to remove. It’s basically the value of a MacBook, right?” Raman brayed.

You mean the same environmentally friendly Prius that is supposed to align with the Green Deal, Ms. Raman? Or is that technology now dismissed in favor of ultra-expensive EVs?

“That is put in a place that is incredibly easy to access in your car, and all the costs of the thefts are given to us to bear instead of them [Toyota] having to manufacture a car that actually is not so easy to be stolen,” Raman ranted.

Oh, please.

Of course, other Democrats had to chime in and claim that prosecuting criminals for stealing the converters is “racist” … which effectively admits that a disproportionate percentage of their particular populations is always prone to criminal activity.

“Criminalizing the mere possession of a catalytic converter, I think is the wrong way to go, because we know which communities are gonna be the ones most criminalized because of this …This makes it a misdemeanor, it creates a fine of $1000, you can go to jail for six months,” another DEI pick, Eunises Hernandez, raged.

Oh, wow, imagine that! A criminal going to jail for committing a crime! The horror.

“Even a short incarceration of a couple of days can destabilize someone’s life forever, and leads to collateral consequences that they have to carry until they can get an expungement, if they can get that … I’m not in agreement with creating more opportunities to criminalize our communities,” Hernandez continued moronically.

Perhaps someone shouldn’t destabilize their life by becoming a criminal in the first place, Ms. Hernandez, especially when considering that DEI has all but empowered certain groups over others.

On top of that, “opportunities to criminalize our communities?” How about opportunities for certain communities to not be laden with criminals!

Hernandez argues about as effectively as Raman … which means they have no argument at all.

What’s pitiable is Raman’s insane argument against Toyota isn’t even “original” … in fact, it appears to be a carbon copy of lame arguments made by other woke politicians, from Canada to America.

For instance, in Toronto, residents were advised to leave their car keys close to the door to avoid violence and just let their cars be stolen. Seriously?

Then again, that’s par for the course in Trudeau’s Canada, as the globalist would much rather attack hardworking truckers than violent criminals.

Last year, a coalition of woke attorneys also blamed Kia and Hyundai for making their cars too easy to steal, the exact same argument that Raman just co-opted.

Even worse than her blatant plagiarism of other leftists’ terrible policies, Raman didn’t bother to point out the fact that zero-bail policies, illegal migration, and other terrible state policies have basically provided a free for all for career criminals, none of whom appear intent on changing their ways.

And why would they?

In California, it pays to be a criminal … a reality that applies even to illegals.

Indeed, Honduras, a crime-ridden Central American nation, reported a boom in real estate housing shortly after Biden took office, which was directly linked to illegal migration.

Specifically, multiple Honduran drug dealers are estimated to make upwards of $350,000 per year, tax free, in Northern California, the lion’s share of which goes straight back to their crime-ridden nations.

Predictably, California has done next to nothing in terms of preventing drug abuse and drug sales from pervading its cities, even though such antics have driven countless residents straight to Texas.

So many have left California for Texas that the latter has gained electoral seats, following the last census count.

Little wonder that Dems are encouraging mass illegal migration while simultaneously calling for an end to the electoral college.

After all, every time they attempt to make a lame “popular vote” argument, they leave out the inconvenient fact that an innumerable number of ballots are cast in so-called “sanctuary states” by illegals.

Which is exactly why the electoral system must remain in place, one of the many reasons, really, despite Democrats’ insipid arguments to the contrary.
