Looks like leftist mayors are reaping what they’ve long since sown, especially when the illegal migrants they’ve openly encouraged rebel against them.
After all, they openly encouraged BLM riots and looting, and they’ve been more than hospitable to varied Antifa thugs and their police station burning chaos.
Heck, Chicago Mayor Lori Lightfoot likely participated in a “protest” or two herself, when she isn’t busy banningwhite reporters from interviewing her.
Now, the latest incompetent leftist mayor, Democrat Eric Adams, is apparently seeing what happens when a culture of crime is fostered, especially in an alleged “sanctuary” city.
New York City is finding itself bearing the brunt of quite a few illegal border crossings, the same border crossings that DHS Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas attempted to deny … until Republican Governor Abbott, Republican Governor DeSantis, and even (Democrat) Governor Jared Polis began shipping migrants up north.
Mayorkas suddenly stopped lying after Abbott initiated the brilliant bus scheme, and, hilariously, Democrat “leaders” suddenly began to masquerade as alleged saviors of individuals who brazenly (and illegally) enter the nation.
Adams was quick to brag about the alleged enlightenment of the big city, claiming that all the migrants apparently received better (free) treatment than most New York residents.
“More than 42,000 asylum seekers have arrived in New York City since last spring, and we continue to surpass our moral obligations as we provide asylum seekers with shelter, food, health care, education, and a host of other services,” Adams bragged.
Humorously, the mayor failed to realize that giving away tons of freebies … attracts more freeloaders.
While Adams initially boasted about what a great job the city was doing, reality soon caught up to him, and he recently admitted that the crime-ridden city is now at a “breaking point.”
“With more than 41,000 asylum seekers arriving in New York City since last spring and nearly 28,000 asylum seekers currently in our care, our city is at its breaking point,” Adams droned, making an announcement that Texans have been aware of for over two years.
After all, they’ve dealt with the crisis enough.
“We continue to surpass both our moral and legal obligations and meet the needs of people arriving in New York, but as the number of asylum seekers continues to grow, we are in serious need of support from both our state and federal governments,” Adams drawled.
“In need of serious support” = more access to taxpayer dollars that are rarely accounted for. Got it.
Adams also thought it was a great idea to pack expensive hotels filled with migrants, and he apparently couldn’t understand how moving migrants from a $700 per night hotel to a ferry center might cause “protests” to emerge.
Especially since Democrats have trained their lemmings to throw a tantrum whenever they don’t get their way.
“This weekend, we began the process of moving single adult men from the Watson Hotel to Brooklyn Cruise Terminal, as we transition the hotel to meet the large number of asylum-seeking families with children,” Adams announced.
Translation: Even more illegal migrants flooding the city.
And exactly how are so many “single adult men” these desperate refugees the likes of Kamala paint them out to be?
“The facilities at Brooklyn Cruise Terminal will provide the same services as every other humanitarian relief center in the city, and the scheduled relocations to Brooklyn Cruise Terminal this weekend took place as planned. We remain in serious need of support from both our state and federal governments,” Adams continued.
Ah, but the cruise terminal will not provide the “same services” as high-end hotels, which is precisely why the migrants threw a fit after Adams attempted to evict them.
Varied opinion columnists at the Daily Mail, a British publication long since bemused by the Biden brigade, are presently amused at the “Bidenvilles” that have sprung up in response to Adams’ attempts to keep order amongst law-breaking illegal migrants.
David Marcus observes the rather humorous development, as evident from the opening line of his opinion piece.
“Sometimes there is nothing left to do but say, ‘I told you so,’” Marcus began with amusement.
“Bidenvilles are popping up in New York City, as dozens of migrants slept on the streets outside a Big Apple hotel on Sunday night. They were staging a protest,” Marcus continued, “one can hardly blame them. Democratic Mayor Eric Adams had just rudely evicted them from their hotel rooms. That’s not how to treat a guest. New York City is a sanctuary city after all.”
Nail on the head. That’s exactly right. Democrats created the monstrous mayhem; now they can deal with it. So can the voters who insist on voting Democrat (while fleeing to red states as elitist tax refugees).
And Marcus had a grand time shredding the tent cities that have sprung up in response to an abysmally incompetent administration.
“Bidenvilles – that’s the moniker for these desperate pop-up villages. You can find Bidenvilles in El Paso and Austin, Texas, Washington DC, Chicago and elsewhere.
In the depths of The Great Depression, shanty towns of America’s destitute were called Hoovervilles after President Herbert Hoover. It only seems fair that Biden joins the club, because this is overwhelmingly his fault,” Marcus added.
Well, at least Hoovervilles were ostensibly filled with Americans out of work (yet willing to work). Bidenvilles appear to be another animal entirely, given that they may well be filled with foreign criminals. Fitting, really, given the contents of Hunter’s laptop(s).
Varied commenters were amused by the tent cities that sprung up in New York City in “protest” at no longer staying in a $700 per night hotel for free (a stay that continued for months on end, all at the taxpayer’s expense), but one comment really stood out in terms of its conciseness and pithy summary of the entire situation.
“They’ll be worse than BLM one day,” one commenter remarked.
