Now you know why Biden decided to allocate $80B to the IRS in the $739B hilariously titled “Inflation Reduction Act.”
According to a recent publication in The Blaze, the IRS has literally become trigger-happy over the past few years, courtesy of the Biden administration’s massive investment in the group.
“According to [a report] released by watchdog group OpenTheBooks.com, the Internal Revenue Service has spent $10 million since 2020 on guns, ammunition, and other tactical gear in an effort to militarize the agency …
The report revealed that the IRS and 102 other agencies outside the Department of Defense invested a combined total of $3.7 billion since 2006 – adjusted for inflation – on weapons, ammunition, and military-style equipment. OpenTheBooks.com stated that 76 of the 102 are rank-and-file regulatory agencies, such as the Environmental Protection Agency, Social Security Administration, Veterans Affairs, and Health and Human Services,” the outlet reported.
Frighteningly, the IRS procured a huge number of AR-15 rifles and other similar assault rifles, which is rather ironic considering that the Biden administration claims it wants to ban such weapons.
Moreover, the Biden administration has effectively supported the widespread “Defund Police” movement, as evidenced by the massive rise in crime in Democrat-led cities.
After all, the Democrats think social workers should apparently be well-equipped and well-trained to handle violent crime.
So, the fact that the IRS apparently has a treasure trove of assault rifles is disturbing, to say the least.
Especially as federal agents in general are apparently more armed than the Marines.
“There are now more federal agents with arrest and firearm authority (200,000) than U.S. Marines (186,000),” the report noted.
Wonderful. That’s really comforting.
Of course, an IRS spokesperson had all the excuses in the world for the deranged armaments of the IRS.
“Criminal investigation] special agents have been using weapons throughout their history as they have consistently found themselves investigating the most dangerous criminals involved in organized crime, drugs and gangs,” the spokesperson drawled.
Funny.
Perhaps organized crime wouldn’t be such an issue if the Biden administration bothered to take real action on the border.
“These types of cases are typically worked in conjunction with other state and federal law enforcement agencies. Firearms and equipment are also used for training purposes. Special agents are required to train and qualify for their weapons and must participate in quarterly trainings to maintain proficiency,” the spokesperson added pointedly.
So, in other words, it’s perfectly fine for IRS federal agents to be armed to the teeth, with taxpayer-funded assault rifles that the White House claims it wants to ban, all while ensuring that local and state police are as disarmed and disempowered as possible, especially following a concentrated media and social media hate campaign.
Only in Biden’s America …
