While Republicans have long pressed for impeaching DHS Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas, in large part due to the utter ineptitude with which he is handling (or not handling) the border, it looks like they may have some indirect support now.
Especially when accounting for all the whining coming from the Democrat “leaders” of defiant sanctuary cities.
Such as Mayor Eric Adams of New York City.
“Given that we’re unable to provide care for an unlimited number of people and are already overextended, it is in the best interest of everyone, including those seeking to come to the United States, to be upfront that New York City cannot single-handedly provide care to everyone crossing our border,” Adams declared.
Guess what, Adams? The nation cannot “single-handedly provide care” to every last individual in the world either, especially when the individuals crossing the border clearly have intent to harm the United States.
“Being dishonest about this will only result in our system collapsing, and we need our government partners to know the truth and do their share,” Adams added.
Oh, the Republicans are doing their “share,” all right … Chiefly by trying to remove one of the “root causes” of the current migration crisis: the DHS Secretary himself.
After all, Mayorkas literally spent the first several months of the Biden presidency proclaiming that there was zero crisis at the border (although there clearly was).
Once the crisis became impossible to shield from public view, Mayorkas has continued to hem and haw and remain generally unproductive as far as the border crisis is concerned, which is precisely why Republicans are, once again, pushing for his impeachment.
Indeed, Homeland Security Chairman Mark Green crisply spelled out one of the many reasons that justify the removal of Mayorkas.
“Mayorkas has blatantly lied to the United States Congress under oath on multiple occasions and lied to the American people at least 58 times,” Green proclaimed.
Emphasis on “at least.”
“President Biden probably doesn’t know all the stuff we’re going to show in this report, and I hope when he hears all this when he sees all this, that he’ll act responsibly and take care of the problem,” Green continued.
In other words, Green hopes Biden will take the correct action and fire him, just as he fired the trans activist Cabinet member busted for stealing women’s clothes in airports.
On more than one occasion.
Green noted that Mayorkas has undone or otherwise destroyed “89 policies from two previous administrations,” which would apparently include policies dating back to Emperor Obama.
“Today’s hearing will begin the process of digging into all of the details – the cause and effect of Alejandro Mayorkas’s dereliction of duty,” Mayorkas boomed.
And what a dereliction it’s been.
One can only imagine how many terrorists have slipped through the border alongside cartel associates, all of whom constitute the general future for the nation one can expect with Biden at the helm.
