Top Democrat Goes To Bat For DeSantis

If the mainstream media was furious over Florida Governor Ron DeSantis before, they’re really going to be furious over him now in light of the latest support he’s received.

Recently, DeSantis made conservatives chuckle when it was revealed that California Governor Gavin Newsom spent $100,000 on attack ads on the Florida Governor … only for Fox News Digital to reveal that Newsom’s own in-laws had sent money in support of DeSantis.

Now, a top Democrat, Palm Beach County Commissioner David Kerner, has proclaimed that his major objective over the next several weeks is to campaign relentlessly for DeSantis.

“It may come as a shock to many of you, or at least many of my friends that as a Democratic elected officer in deep blue Palm Beach County, I’m endorsing Republican governor,” Kerner proclaimed.

Translation: Kerner knows how the left is now, so he’s preparing them for the reality of what he plans to do.

“Every day until November 8, I will campaign for Governor DeSantis and on November 8, I will vote for Governor DeSantis,” Kerner proclaimed, “and today, I proudly endorse Governor Ron DeSantis for re-election as the Governor of the great state of Florida.”

Excellent!

What a timely announcement!

Just as the media goes apocalyptic over DeSantis’s Martha’s Vineyard strategy, a top Democrat in a top state comes out and declares his full support of DeSantis’s candidacy.

In large part to save the state, given how destructive Democrats have become.

“I will not remain silent. There is too much on the line in this election,” Kerner asserted.

Especially with a candidate like Crist, who came out swinging quite hard to the left.

Which startled quite a few Democrats, apparently, in addition to virtually all Republicans.

“The governor’s Democratic opponent has already started talking about reallocation, which to me, by the way, is a code word for taking resources away from the men and women that protect us. It’s a code word for defunding the police,” Kerner continued.

Yep. Crist wants Florida to become another California, basically.

“Florida is a proud state, one with a deep history,” Kerner added, “the beauty of our state is represented in the diversity of our environment and the diversity of our people. But no doubt we are a state on the rise. And I give a lot of credit to our governor for the trajectory of our state.”

That’s exactly right. And DeSantis really shone in his response to the pandemic.

A response that was vastly superior to that of the Biden admin.

Kerner also made it clear that he didn’t lose much sleep over who to endorse.

“This was not a difficult choice for me. This was not the proverbial lesser of two evils,” Kerner asserted, “Governor DeSantis has demonstrated himself beyond worthy of the humbling duties of this office. And he has done so with the level of dignity, purpose, and respect that is lost in the public sphere today.”

“Beyond worthy.” Absolutely spot on.

And a whole lot less scary than the “Beyond Meat” executive who recently bit into another person’s nose. Guess an absence of meat can make some go mad.

DeSantis graciously accepted the endorsement, declaring on Twitter, “Democrat and former police officer @DavidMKerner stands for the rule of law. Thankful to receive his endorsement today in West Palm Beach!”

In other words, Kerner is a Democrat with serious sense and isn’t terribly interested in ushering in a socialist nightmare.

And he is proud to stand by DeSantis’s side.

“As an aside, Governor, I am very proud that you felt that my endorsement was worthy of acceptance. And I’m so delighted that we’ve had this opportunity to be here in public with the community to make it official,” Kerner proclaimed.

That endorsement might send some Democrats raging … but it’s an endorsement made with the people, not politicians, in mind.
