Recently, Fox News contributor Jason Chaffetz declared that California Governor Gavin Newsom had turned the state into an “absolute disaster.”
That’s putting it quite mildly.
After all, under the “leadership” of Newsom,
Which is precisely why Florida Governor Ron DeSantis had a ball delivering a recent speech at the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library, which is located in California.
“I knew you guys got a lot of problems out here, but your governor is very concerned about what we’re doing in Florida, so I figured I had to come by,” DeSantis quipped.
Absolutely. Californians with a semblance of sense undoubtedly had at least some interest in what DeSantis had to say, given the rather stark differences in performance between California and Florida.
Hint: One state lost electoral votes, whereas the other gained electoral votes.
And DeSantis was the gainer …
“And I think if you look over the last four or five years, and you look at the performances of individual states, and you compare Florida versus California, New York, Illinois, some of those other states, we have had a great experiment, a great test in governing philosophies … Because, of course, you know, we approach things much differently in Florida than you guys have out here, much differently in Florida than they’ve done in New York and in Illinois,” DeSantis remarked.
Exactly. Florida advocates freedom … Liberal states advocate lockdowns. Any questions?
In fact, the lockdowns were so extensive that Florida experienced a boom in population, courtesy of incompetent governors such as Newsom.
“And I can tell you, we had families move from the Pacific coast just for the fact that we had schools open in Florida, when you didn’t have them open in many other states,” DeSantis added.
Meanwhile, schools across Seattle, Portland, Chicago, Baltimore, and other Democrat-run cities have recently admitted that huge percentages of their students cannot read or write at all.
Which leads one to wonder exactly what the teachers are doing in the classroom, aside from indoctrinating students into learning about 101 different types of gender and 0 different types of political philosophies … as all the most militant teachers are effective Marxists.
DeSantis also noted that all citizens were treated equally, and not excluded by society due to a personal health decision.
“We did things like ban vaccine passports in the state of Florida …. Everyone has a right to participate in society. That’s a personal choice that you make whether to take that or not, and we’re not going to let you be excluded,” DeSantis continued.
Not so coincidentally, much of Europe no longer requires a vaccine passport, showing just how asinine (or beholden to Big Pharma) Biden and his lemmings (i.e., Newsom) really are.
Humorously, DeSantis also crushed Newsom in tourism statistics due to his style of governance.
“Now, what ended up happening because we did that, one of the things that ended up happening was in 2021, Florida set a record for domestic tourism. If you compare the change in tourism in California from 2019 to 2021, California tourism declined by 22 percent,” DeSantis declared.
Ouch. Way to kill that alleged “surplus” you achieved years ago, Newsom … though that surplus was largely aided and abetted by Big Brother.
Left to his own devices, Newsom clearly tanks the economy.
Which in turn has driven an “exodus” straight to Florida.
“And if you look over the last four years, we’ve witnessed a great American exodus from states governed by leftist politicians imposing leftist ideology and delivering poor results, and you’ve seen massive gains in states like Florida, who are governing according to the tried and true principles that President Reagan held dear,” DeSantis boomed.
Exactly. Reagan would undoubtedly love the job DeSantis is doing today, especially as he holds the principles of liberty, freedom, and (real) democracy dear.
Not to mention the power of encouragement, which DeSantis delivers to Californians in droves.
“From the beginning of this state’s history, all the way until the last four or five years, people beat a path to California. You didn’t beat a path away from California. And yet now, you see the state hemorrhaging population,” DeSantis remarked in disbelief.
With any luck, Newsom will soon be recalled for good … and Californians might finally be ready for a leader like DeSantis.
