Professors across Florida are surely enraged by a recent court ruling, which handed Florida Governor Ron DeSantis (another) major win.
Even more importantly, this win is one that will enable DeSantis to continue in his quest to eliminate woke ideology from university curriculums across the state of Florida.
The “Stop WOKE Act” bans colleges from glorifying critical race theory, a ban that sent a bunch of Marxist professors into a rage given the injunction promptly filed against the governor.
Apparently, professors were angered about transparency, as Florida’s chief of the Office of Policy and Budget, Chris Spencer called for all universities to be transparent in terms of how many courses pertained to divisiveness, ironically under the auspices of inclusion.
Specifically, Spencer requested for universities to “provide a comprehensive list of all staff, programs and campus activities related to diversity, equity and inclusion and critical race theory.”
Needless to say, the universities didn’t like that very much and promptly filed an injunction against the “Stop WOKE Act.”
Alas, the academics failed against DeSantis, as he succeeded in having the injunction invalidated.
U.S. District Judge Mark E. Walker made his views clear in his written opinion.
“Although this court would not hesitate to compel compliance with its preliminary injunction, this court finds there has been no violation of the injunction at this time,” Walker writes.
Then again, the woke have been gritting their teeth ever since DeSantis triumphed over Democrat competitor Charlie Crist, especially as he delivered a rather resolute speech in the aftermath of massive victory.
“Over the past few years, as so many states in our country ground their citizens down, we in Florida lifted our people up. When other states consigned their peoples’ freedom to the dustbin, Florida stood strongly as freedom’s linchpin,” DeSantis declared.
That’s right. And that’s precisely why Florida has experienced a population explosion, followed by a gain in electoral votes, which leftie states have lost.
“When the world lost its mind, and common sense suddenly became an uncommon virtue, Florida was a refuge of sanity, a citadel of freedom for our fellow Americans and for people around the world,” DeSantis continued.
Blindly following Fauci is definitely indicative of losing one’s mind, that’s for sure.
DeSantis, however, followed the actual science, implemented reasonable measures, and, most importantly, stopped the measures as soon as it was realistically safe to do so.
“From the Space Coast to the Sun Coast, from St. Johns to St. Lucie, from the streets of Hialeah to the Speedway in Daytona, from the Okeechobee all the way up to the Micanopy, freedom lives here,” DeSantis continued.
DeSantis’s success a governor is even more impressive when accounting for all he managed to achieve, in spite of his tenure being made all the “more difficult by the floundering federal establishment in Washington, D.C.”
“And this has eroded freedom and stunted commerce. It is recklessly facilitated open borders making a mockery of the rule of law, allowing massive amounts of narcotics to infect our states, importing criminal aliens, and green-lighting the flow of millions of illegal aliens into our country – burdening communities and taxpayers throughout the land,” DeSantis boomed
That’s exactly right. And exactly why DeSantis shipped the migrants to Martha’s Vineyard, where the rich elites became incensed that the illegal aliens they welcomed into Texas and elsewhere dared to show up where they live.
DeSantis also shredded woke ideology, which is slowly poisoning the impressionable minds of social media-addicted youth and Democrats.
“This bizarre but prevalent ideology that permeates these policy measures purports to act in the name of justice for the marginalized, but it frowns upon American institutions. It rejects merit and achievement, and it advocates identity essentialism,” DeSantis blared.
“Identity essentialism.” That’s an interesting way to put it. As well as accurate.
It brings to mind varied tribal conflicts that prevail across less developed nations, the types of conflicts that Democrats are keen to bring to American shores.
However, DeSantis has made his message clear: Wokeoloy has no place in Florida.
“We reject this woke ideology. We seek normalcy, not philosophical lunacy. We will not allow reality, facts, and truth to become optional – we will never surrender to the woke mob. Florida is where woke goes to die,” DeSantis boomed.
Wake up, woke!
